Re: Tier 2 ICT - Maternity - switch to Tier 2 General Depend

I doubt if your wife's employer can duck out of paying SMP for her. I don't understand their hesitation and if they are a big company, tis particularly deplorable. SMP is paid by them but is anyway claimed back from the Government so it just beats me why they are doing this. Can your wife ask for a ...

You should not have any problems. Recently travelled back to Uk from Singapore landing in UK on 4th october. Visa was expiring 26th November. We were ushered in without ANY questions asked and just told my the official that our visa was running out soon. We said yes, we are in the process of making ...

Re: Switching from TIER 4 Dependent to TIER 2

Hi there, She definitely doesn't need a UK degree for a Tier 2 general eligibility. However these solicitors/advisors you have may be confusing this with her need to show English language competency, which is easily demonstrated through a degree taught in the UK. But as we said earlier, the degree d...

Sorry for the delay:

As far as I know if you are showing your own funds, there's nothing that the sponsor needs to do on their side on the SMS system.

Re: If I get Tier 2 General in 2015, will I be eligible for

ideally that's how it should be. i.e. the rules in place for ILR at the time of your grant of Tier 2 should be applicable for you. But the UKVI/ political parties are notorious for retrospective rules. which means that the ILR rules can change any time now and say some one was eligible for it in 201...

Hi Porus, I believe you may actually be under the requirements of a cooling off period. You say you had tier 2 ICT until July 2014. Did you get it post 6th April 2011? Individuals who entered the UK under Tier 2 (ICT) on or after 6 April 2011, or those who entered before then but have since made an ...

Re: RMLT with salary range competitive

Yes, if the standard industry practice is to advertise the salary as a “competitive salary” rather than quoting a specific value or range, then it can be continued to be accepted in adverts submitted for the purposes of the RLMT. read here: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attach...

Re: If I get Tier 2 General in 2015, will I be eligible for

Your question is way ahead in projection.

If you get your Tier 2 general in 2015, then you should be ideally eligible for ILR in 2020. NO ONE and I say NO ONE can guarantee what immigration policies might exist then so this question cannot be answered I am afraid.

Some things to ponder for your friend: Think you should have been contacted by UKVI already as your application has gone past the 8 weeks service time line. https://www.gov.uk/remain-in-uk-family if you haven't then try calling them. Have you got a reference number at all, have the fees been taken?

Re: pls help

If you are applying from within the country - you need an unrestricted COS
Outside the country - you would have applied with a restricted COS
ILR - you are eligible as long as you satisfy the rules for indefinite leave in 2017, 5 years post your first Tier 2 stamp.

I think its the initial Tier 2visa approval that you were granted that's the deciding factor. In that case you are not counted amongst those who have a cap of 6 years.
