Thanks Jambo.

If I understand correctly, I have to apply for my naturalization and get the BC firs then my son can apply under MN1 section 3(1) if he is still a child (less than 16).
Otherwise he has to apply as an adult though naturalization. Is it correct?

14yrs child on ILR- naturalization or MN1

Guys I need you advise on my son status.

My son is 14yrs who born outside the UK. He got his ILR on February 2012 along with my application.
If I want to apply for his BC, should I wait 12 months then apply through naturalization like an adult or I can get it earlier as a child through MN1?

However you'll need to have the child's birth certificate and evidence of your ilr- are these with ukba? Thanks Greenie, it is clear now. The documents are with me as I applied the MN1 application through NCS and they only took copy. You already said "claims for child benefit can be backdated ...

You can claim child benefit once you have ilr. Hi, I have a similar situation, I've got my ILR, but my UK born son was not included. I have filled the MN1 form and now waiting to get it approved. My question is while I am waiting to get the result of MN1 application, can I apply for Child Benefit? ...

According to this UKBA webpage , the service is only available to applicants using form SET(M), so unfortunately it is not available to you. I just contacted HO regarding the SET(O) checking service and they told checking of any application is up to local councils so you should ask them about the t...

Hi nikki, Thanks for giving me the advice. 1-my status always been "no recourse to public funds". 2- I am not sure what was the initial answer to HMRC form. Actually the original form was given to me by my employer and when I asked: am I entitle for it? they told me just fill it and send i...

Hi nikki, As I explained above, I have contacted HMRC and asked to retune the money back but they say according to their policy they cannot accept it, however in my new application I said I am not getting benefit as I already stopped that. I guess the decision on my application was wrong as the home...

Tier 2 refusal over public funds

Hi,

I made an application for an extension to my four year visa. It was refused because they stated that I requested child benefit for my son who was born in the UK. Is there anybody who can help me or give me any advice?

Thank you very much
