naturalization for EEA national

Dear All, I am an EEA citizen. I received my UK permanent residence last November. I understand I need to wait for one year before applying for naturalization as UK citizen. Which documents shall I then present? Is it enough to submit the permanent residence document and show that I lived in the UK ...

EEA3 permanent residence - Implications for EEA2 application

Hi All, I received my permanent residence as EEA national. My partner is going to apply for a residence card as family member of an EEA national. For my understanding, given that I now have an EEA3 permanent residence, I do not need to show that I am exercising treaty rights. Hence, what shall we su...

EEA2 residence card validity

My spouse (non-EU national) got an EEA2 residence card in August 2011. Between August 2011 and August 2012, He was in the UK: From Aug. 2, 2011 to Oct. 23, 2011 and from March 24, 2012 to April 16, 2012. He has been out of the UK: For the remaining months, and until now. He should be back to the UK ...

The non-EEA national will most probably visit the UK from time to time during the period of work abroad.
Would this make any difference according to the law requirements?
Thanks!

Thanks Jambo. To recap. The residence card will be valid until 2016. If, in the meanwhile, the card holder (non-EEA national) is out of the UK for more than 6 months in a given year, s/he will NOT be able to come back to the UK with that same card. Thus, how could s/he enter the UK if the EEA nation...

residence card validity and posting in a 3rd country

Dear All, Since I see that my post did not receive any reply so far, let me rephrase my main question as follows. Suppose the non-EEA national is employed by a business located in another member state and s/he has to work in a third country (not part of the Union) for more than 6 months in a given y...

Dear All, I hope you are all doing well. I need your help to clarify some aspects of the EEA procedure that are not that clear to me. We recently got the residence card, and we have the intention to apply for a permanent residence in 5 years time. I understand the EEA national shall not be out of th...

Passport expiring before the 5 yrs of the Residence Card

Dear All, I hope you all are doing well. I received the Residence Card as a family member of a EU national. The card will last till 2016, but my passport is going to expire two years before. I am thus wondering whether I need to apply for the sticker to be transferred to the new passport, which woul...

EEA2 application - On Comprehensive Medical Insurance

Hello Everybody, I really need urgent advice on this, and I rely on your help. I address my request to students in particular, who successfully applied for and received a Residence Card under the EEA2. Which health insurance did you use? Was it a one-year insurance contract? Sorry for posting again ...

about health insurance

toni34 and all, I took it for granted the UK Border Agency would accept a WPA XS Health insurance, but after reading the posts in this forum, I found it was refused once. Did somebody else (preferably, a student) applied by using the WPA XS Health? Was it accepted? Would you suggest another WPA type...

EEA2 application - On Comprehensive Medical Insurance

Thanks toni34!

I would then go for a WPA XS Health, which is actually a student medical insurance, making sure that also my partner is covered.

Would 1 year health insurance be enough (I shall finish my PhD studies in 1 year time)?

EEA2 application - On Comprehensive Medical Insurance

Dear All, I am an EU PhD student and I need to provide the UK Border Agency with comprehensive sickness insurance. Questions: 1) Shall the insurance cover me only or also my non-EU partner? 2) What is the extent of the insurance? Is it OK an essential insurance or shall it cover also for ex. medical...

Hello Everybody, Good news! After sending the fax and calling other 2 times, we received the Certificate of Application for the Residence Card today. It clearly states my husband's right to work in the UK whilst waiting for a residence card to be issued. The COA is dated January 19th, which was actu...

Hello Carling40, The info you provided helps a great deal in fact, thanks for that! My husband's application has not been assigned to any case worker so far, and yes, both the Christmas holidays and a possible delay with the Royal Mail might be part of the reason. I got the fax number from them toda...

Hello Mimine30, Thanks for your message and help. I called them earlier in the afternoon, and I was told to send them a fax stating the delay, which I did thereafter. At the same time, I got contradicting answers: while I was told that the COA was sent on Feb 10th in one of my previous calls, today ...

Thanks for your reply 86ti. Yes, they've confirmed receipt of the application (which reach them the day after we sent it). Yet, without a COA, we cannot really find any job. We will ring them again, as you suggested.

COA for EEA2... after 2 months, still nothing

Hello Everybody, My husband applied for his residence card back on Dec 21, 2010. After that, we sent 4 emails and called twice the UK Border Agency. We came to know that the COA was sent out to our address on Feb 10th. Yet, as of today, we still did not receive it. I wonder if this is common or unus...
