To confirm again, father town to mention would be at the time of his birth not the current resident town? Is that correct?
Thanks again
Yes, that is correct - name of the town he was born in.

Well, on BBC it says:
Home Secretary Theresa May is reported to be planning changes to the test taken by foreign nationals who wish to become British citizens.
Full article here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18662531

So, that's only a proposal at the moment, not the actual new test.

Re: Travelling after applying for Naturalisation

Hi All, I'm about to apply for my Naturalisation, but I have to travel out of country for 3 weeks in the start of August. I heard that if you receive the letter to book your ceremony after approval, you need to call them and book in the next 10 days? How strict is this? If I receive the letter whil...

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/118316/response/289754/attach/3/Response%2022986.pdf Above gives some insight why most applicants who applied in march and onwards are still waiting for approval. That is some serious backlog. I also wonder if the higher number of applications in March ...

Re: applying after ceremony

Not sure what passport you or OP have, but there are many places beside EU that allow visa-free travel for British passport holders. As oposed to many non-EEA passports (with ILR or not). the "bc" process is complete once you get the certificate, passport is secondary and only allows you t...

I mentioned on another post that the IPS assumes that with most people, the PPT they entered the UK with and their current PPT is the same, not always the case. I entered UK on PPT1, which then got replaced by PPT2, which then got replaced by PPT3, which then got replaced by PPT4 - that one is curr...

Got a reply from the IPS website. THe message said "query has been forwarded to the local passport office and they will get back in 2 days". My queries: 1. How many passport offices are there? I thought there is only one in Durham ( atleast thats what the envelope says). 2. Is it possible...

It's an A4 brown envelope, no window. My name was handwritten on it. No sender address on mine , but I think the reference number was written at the bottom of it. What a poor standard of service :o Even the acknowledgment letter has a sender's address on it - it is the basics of sending letters.

Slightly OT - can somebody tell me what does the infamous brown envelope looks like?

Is it A4, C5, or just a small DL? With a window or without? What's the sender's address on it?

Is it same as the acknowledgment one?
