Hi @rarun53, thanks for such a detailed post. If you remember, can you please help me with the list of documents to be uploaded at the time of submitting online application for OCI Reissue (Misc Services) for minor (due to new passport). OCI collection - in person at HCI London (Timing Details)

Hi all, Has anyone gone through the process of collecting OCI in-person recently at HCI London. Can you please confirm the timings. The timings on the website indicate 08.30 to 12.00 hours for issue of OCI tokens and for submission of passports and 16.30 to 17.00 for collection. Whilst I know the co...

I travelled with only 28 days left on my Indian Passport and no issues at all. On checking with Air India, they confirmed that for India - UK flights the only thing that they are instructed to validate is whether the passport is valid at the time of travel.

Hope this helps.

Re: OCI Collection Experience

I thought to mention my OCI collection experience in the forum. I have reached HCI at 10:30am on Tuesday. There were only two persons ahead of me. I handed over 4 passports and documents printing status. The OCI counter staff gave one token for 4 passports. It was over in 2 minutes (including waiti...

Check with your local HCI in Dublin. At HCI London, you can get your OCI on the same day (in the evening) if you application was accepted in the morning. However this might not be the case with all HCI's. I thought, it takes 4-6 weeks for in person OCI application as the OCI is printed and sent off...

Hi,

This is a two step process -

1. Surrender your Indian Passport and obtain a surrender certificate (details here - http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/surenderind_pass.html)

2. Apply for OCI to obtain a lifelong visa (details here - http://www.hcilondon.in/ocipci.php)

Thanks,

I think there is a 3 months grace period from the date of naturalisation in which you can travel to India on Indian passport. After this period they would expect you to surrender Indian Passport. But again this is what I vaguely recollect reading from a previous thread in this forum. You will have t...
