Re: Long Term Residency and IRP card

How long is your passport in date for? If your passport expires next year that is probably the reason.

I got my last IRP card in 2017 and am pretty sure it is valid until 2027 as I had just renewed my passport.

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Hi all, do we need to bring our birth cert to the registration ceremony? On my email it says to bring the invite, declaration, passport and ID card. I thought I read somewhere the birth cert was also needed. If anyone can clarify, that would be great. No need. Also, ID card or IRP card? Thanks mese...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Congrats to those that got an invitation! I do however have a query which I'm hoping may be clarified. Paid the requested fee last July and done all vetting etc. But the only correspondence since then was an acknowledgement of paying the fee. I'm just wondering what the approval email is that is sp...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Hi Kay Enjoy your stay in Killarney. We’re coming from France and I’ve basically just taken out a mortgage for a night at the Great Southern! Ha! I hear you. I booked a lovely manor house 20mins walk from the city centre. It's right by the national park and was $$$ but I figured I've waited long en...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

I received my invitation email today for Killarney on June 10 at 3pm. I'll be travelling from Kilkenny to it and am treating myself to a two-night stay in Killarney to savour the experience. I've been living in Ireland for over two decades (on a stamp 5 for many years). I actually got emotional earl...

Re: Please provide three proofs of residence for 2023

Thanks so much for the quick replies. I have my last phone bill (July) and electricity bill (June/July) Should I just send in my last bank statement for this year or should I send all of them for this year? I won't receive my mortgage statement for this year until next year, same with employment rec...

Please provide three proofs of residence for 2023

Hi all, I have just received confirmation of my application for citizenship and a receipt for my application fee. As per the title, I am being asked for three proofs of residence for 2023. Does anyone have a list of what I could choose from that would be acceptable? I have 28 days in which to send t...

Re: How are you notified re acknowledgement of citizenship application?

Thanks everyone. I've no problem being patient, my concern was it being lost after all the work that went into it.

You've all really put my mind at ease.

How are you notified re acknowledgement of citizenship application?

Hi all, I sent off all my documentation for my citizenship on 23/6/23. I sent my application registered post and tracking shows it was received on 24/6/23. To date I have heard nothing. Is acknowledgement received via a letter or email? My surname is often spelt wrong so if it is sent as an email I'...

Should I have received feedback by now re citizenship?

Hi all,

Sent all my documentation for my citizenship application on 23/6/23. I tracked the envelope and it is showing as delivered. Should I have received formal notice that my documentation was received by this point?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Registration number on GNIB card

That's great, yes mine is the old green card. I'll put in the no7 option as my registration number. That's really put my mind at ease. Thanks for the link re the passport copy. I read the link and it's still a bit ambiguous as it says only a colour certified copy of the biometric is needed. It isn't...

Re: Registration number on GNIB card

Hi meself, Yes, still going ahead despite a few hiccups. The last card I have is dated from 2017 and expires in 2027. It has (in order) my name, nationality, date of birth, stamp 5, then a 5-digit number starting 64, then a number starting 69/...../01, then the county I am in. On the bottom right th...

Should I have received feedback by now re citizenship?

Hi all,

Quick question re Registration number on GNIB card that needs to be submitted with application.

My GNIB card is not the new version that apparently has the registration number on the back. Is the registration number the number that starts with 69/xxxxxxxx?

Thanks in advance,

Kay

Re: Proof of residency for Irish citizenship

Yes, it's definitely easier this way without the score card.

I wanted to thank you as well for a comment on my last post where you mentioned putting the passport number I entered Ireland with under the date I arrived and not my current passport number! I'd have got that wrong without your guidance.

Re: Proof of residency for Irish citizenship

Many thanks meself. I have just found this guide https://www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Citizenship-Guidance-Document.pdf It is different to the one I was using as it was only showing 70 points for Employment Detail Summary. Perhaps that was an older version of the form I was get...

Proof of residency for Irish citizenship

Hi all, I received fantastic advice on here in the past and just want to clarify one final thing before I send off my application. In terms of proof of residency, the form states I need to provide four years of residency ( three years if refugee status), to make up a quota of 150 points. Is this cor...
