Heyyyyyyy IndyRhodes, been wondering where you went. Congrats on the visa! :D It is unfortunate that you and your wife have had to go through such dilemma to get the visa, but alhamdulillah you made it now :) Ah, thanks Shadow! U know, I love this forum, but sometimes reading all about everyone's t...

Visa granted.

Just a simple update for anybody who might be interested. I have not posted recently as I have had nothing to report. My wife (Pakistani) and I (British) applied for her spouse visa in September 2010. The original application was refused because the ECO claimed one of my wife's documents was "n...

Salaam Sister, I think because your husband was not divorced under UK law when he married you they will regard your current marriage to him as invalid. I am no expert, but this is my interpretation. My wife's (we have Nikkah marriage) visa was refused because they said she was not divorced, even tho...

I am no expert...but.... I think that whoever issued your talaq should have given you a certificate - in the UK presumably this is the Shariah court that dealt with the matter. I am sure that you need this to prove that you are divorced and thus free to remarry. Otherwise UKBA will claim that you ar...

In the midst of this crap yes there are appellants whose appeal is being dealt with at caterpillar speed and I think myself, Safia and Dilseabbassi are 3 individuals whose appeal is suffering from this slow speed of processing. Am glad yours was processed quicker :)... My appeal too! Appeal process...

Pakistani spouse

@Atan. I may be able to give you some advice as my situation is very similar to yours - I even live in Sheffield! I married my wife who is a Pakistani national last summer, in Pakistan. (Mind you, we are STILL waiting to get her visa. I warn you...it is a long haul). Regarding your situation. May I ...

Re: foreign military service

will service in the foreign military service hinder eligibility for UK naturalisation? where can i find further information on this matter? I am no expert, but I imagine it might depend upon which military. My wife had a high rank in the Pakistan military, but the ECO did not seem to mind when she ...

Re: Document checking

Thanks for your reply, you are right about gerrys being helpful as they did check every document from wife. May I just ask? You say that your wife's documents were checked. In what way exactly were they checked? Were they simply looking to see that each document was submitted, or were they looking ...

Thank you for stepping in IndyRhodes. I have been watching this discussion closely and have become increasingly concerned about the tone of some of the posts. @ouflak1 Yes, of course the UK is a sovereign country, with it's own laws and policies. However, these laws are passed on behalf of UK citizens (or subjects). As a UK national I have every right to complain and feel resentful if officials are abusing their authority to deny my wife access because o...

ECO can get away with anything, its unbelievable! They refused my hubby application because he overstayed but the ECO officer disregarded our legitmate documents and said we did not provide any documents then added 320 (11) rule which didnt make sense in anyway. At my appeal hearing my barrister pi...

Re: Correspondence needed

This is what we included: * We use PAYG phones, so no phone records. * 2 or 3 'love you miss you' cards. * print outs of some e-cards that we sent each other (2 or 3). * print outs of a few (2 or 3) emails. * transcripts of conversations over MSN - just copied and pasted into Word (2 or 3 conversat...

UKBA Visa Application Process Survey - PLEASE COMPLETE!

In my opinion, UKBA use their powers unjustly and in a wholly discriminatory way...so if like me you are having your life trashed by faceless bureaucrats, please let them know how appalling their 'service' is. Complete this survey...it is very quick to do. Do notice the "Your Comments are Valua...

:) Congratulations...that is brilliant news for you. I am still waiting to hear regarding my own appeal, but I know how you feel. The waiting simply to be with one's partner is just intolerable; how the system can possibly pride itself on being "fast and fair" is laughable. I'm not sure ho...

Spouse visas - Unjust system

Spouse visa cost - £810 !!! This cost just makes me fume...the UKBA do virtually nothing for this; they certainly do not provide a service. The whole system for spouse visas is a complete con. The system is used as a front for immigration control with no concern whatsoever for the feelings and emot...

Many thanks BatleyKhan... If you have a document provided in a legal manner then surely you should expect others to honour...
