Brilliant, notice the part about the numbers of applicants approved in the last two and a half months being greater than that for all of 2010! Maybe some of us will be really lucky and won't be waiting years! I must say that form was stupid. I didn't really know what was and wasn't relevant for me, ...

Hi,

I think it might be between 12 and 18 months for an Irish spouse (but much longer for other people). That's according to the immigrant council publication.

I applied two and a half months ago, so am only a little bit into my wait (irish spouse).

Dear Friends Not sure what to say here. I was disappointed and was about to leave Ireland for good. Even I accepted job in Australia and booked flights. But this morning I received that letter I was waiting for last 4 years. Now cancelled my flight till August. For benefit of members my timelines a...

I think a current account statement is a great idea as it will show spending in the country, to help show you are still living in the country. I'm thinking I should change every bill into our joint names based on this (thanks!). I've already supplied three bills/bank statements in both names, but th...

Hi,

I've never actually been asked to pay (I've been to a couple of solicitors here over the years with documents to be certified). I'd expect it to not be more than 10 or 20 euro each, if they decide to charge for it.

Hi, we went to the solicitors as my husband had to make a declaration that we were living together as man and wife, and seemingly the solicitor needed to know my husband (he had dealt with them when buying our house). I don't think this is applicable for spouses of EU citizens, as you'd be applying ...

Hi, I applied there recently, and I had to have the following notarized: 1. My birth certificate 2. My husband's birth certificate 3. Our marriage certificate Everything else was photocopied, including my passport, and that was it. The lawyer that I went to for this had some really useful advice. On...

Anyone know the answer to this:

I've been offered a new job, and although I've not yet accepted, if I did, would I need to let the INIS know? My application is based on the spouse of an irish citizen (and also of being of irish descent).

Thanks in advance for any advice

Has anyone heard anything of the new "Fast Track"-application-form for Irish Citezenship that's going to be launched soon ? Apparently a turn-around- time of between 6-8 months is promised for new applicants !! "Class of 2009." not heard of that, but I'd be kicking myself if it ...

If it helps anyone, I received a reference number about a month ago now, and it's 68/1***/11 I think this indicates that there are much less applicants after 2009 which would appear to be right. Since 1st Jan 2004 Ireland opened the labour market for the 10 countries which joined EU. My personal im...

Hi, Possibly by registered letter? I'm only saying this because I was asked for a copy of my spouses passport (at my convenience) and received a response on the Monday (by letter) noting the receipt of this. All the best with this. It's really bad that I applied after you and have had my application...

Hi,

I would have applied a bit after you (a couple of days), and I received a confirmation letter from them nearly 3 weeks ago saying my application had been accepted into the queue (form 8).
They aim to respond to people within a week regarding whether they have passed the initial processing stage.

Hi ChIrl, I applied last month as the spouse of an Irish citizen. I ended up supplying a copy of every bill we had. Some weren't in joint names, mainly because he'd bought our home before I came along, and these were fine. I ended up submitting the following: 1. Joint current account statements 2. H...

Thanks very much for your response.
I hope your husband receives a positive response shortly. I'm personally expecting a bit of a wait myself, but was just wondering if it was indeed true that they've sped up the processing of some applications a bit.
We can only live in hope I guess!

Spouse of Irish National naturalisation timeframe

Hi, I applied last month for naturalisation on the basis of marriage to an Irish national. I received my reference number in the last week of February (it ONLY took them 3 working days to respond!). In this letter it said that the average timeframe for processing was 26 months, and from the looks of...
