As proof of subsisting marriage, we plan to show my travel tickets to the home country (where she was for those 11 months). We've been married for the last 7 years and were together throughout in the UK - except for the aforementioned period. My wife cleared the 'Life in the UK' test a few weeks bac...

In which case, would you advise us to take both the FLR(M) and SET(M) forms to the PEO for our appointment?

Do you think an official visit/posting would be considered a "good enough" reason?

Thanks to the response and feedback we received on this thread, my wife would be applying for ILR soon. She earlier thought she wasn't eligible for that since she was out of the country for close to 11 months. Can someone please advise if a letter from her employer would help her case? Isn't 11 mont...

How early can you extend flr(ml

Hi,
My wife's current flr(m) expires in November. Can she apply for an extension now (5 months in advance)?

She had her visa in 2011 November. She will not have time for life in the UK test and hence want to apply for an extension. She has been away less than an year and it's not work related rather more family related. I want to know what sort of letter will I need from my employer? Well I'm lost as to ...

Hi My wife is on a flr(m) visa which is due to expire this October. We plan to get an extension for her since we haven't spend the required number of months together for settlement (she has been out of country for few months). I am a British citizen. Queries about SET(M) and SET(F)

I currently hold UK Indefinite Leave to Remain visa. I would be filing a Dependent visa application for my son - from India. 1. Once the dependent visa (settlement category - vaf4a - with 2 year validity) is processed for my son and we bring him here, is there any 2 year condition that needs to be m...

My own immigration status is ILR. The issue is that she has not been physically living with me for the past two years. She was in India for delivery for the first year and was in university for the whole of second year.

We have been married for 5 years.

Student visa to FLR(M), please help.

Hi, I wanted to check whether my wife can apply for FLR(M). Her situation in the past two years has been the following: She was holding a Tier-1/HSMP visa from 2007 to 2010. She lived with me in UK from 2007 to 2009. In 2009 she went back to India to give birth to our child. In 2010 she came back to...

Thanks sushdmehta for clarifying this. I guess that the only way forward then is to apply for "settlement visa" for him in India.

Is the "limited leave to enter" similar to the spouse visa i.e. will need to prove co-habitation at the end of two years?

ILR or any form of "leave to remain" can only be applied for from within the UK. The child will need to apply for settlement visa . http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/partnersandfamilies/children/childpermanentresident/ "Children cannot normally come to settle in the UK unless both pa...

It would be nice if her ILR count can start soon, but 1. Can she change directly from a Student visa to FLR(M)? I presume this means that she doesnt need to go back to India for this. 2. She is presently not living with me as she is studying in a different city. Her course finishes in Sept this year...

ILR and a dependent child

Hi, I am a Tier 1 holder and will be applying for ILR soon. My child was born in India and is my dependent. Although he holds a valid visa he has never been to the UK (he is still in India). I plan to apply for ILR as an individual since the form mentions that the child has to be physically present ...
