My question is that if I withdraw the dependent's application and ask for the return of her passport, will this affect my application status as the main applicant? No, but you must be very clear in your (written) request so that there is no confusion. Can you please have a look at the letter below ...

Currently, there is no requirement for an English language test result to be within its "validity" period. Such a requirement will be only be introduced from 06-Apr-11. See point 7.30 of this UKBA document . First of all, thank you very much for your quick reply. I cannot thank you enough...
