I understand what you are both saying. What constitutes as not living together? If the spouse stays over at a friend's house for a weekend or goes home for a week, is that it? The reality is that it has been on and off with the vast majority being spent living together. So it's not really false evid...

I understand that it sounds crazy. We're not actually living together, though we have proof that we are. It's complicated, but the trouble started about 18 months before ILR would have been granted. It takes a while to get divorced.

I'm just interested to know if it's an option. We lived together for 2 years and wanted to apply for an unmarried partner visa, but we didn't have enough proof. The only option was to get married, but we weren't ready and it ultimately destroyed our relationship. We're both a little worried that onc...

I will be divorced from my spouse in a couple of weeks. I have lived with the person I wish to sponsor for 4 years. It's the same person.

Time between sponsorships

I read something somewhere about there being a period after you have sponsored someone where you are not allowed to sponsor another person.

I sponsored my spouse 2 years ago. Do I have to wait before I can sponsor an unmarried partner?

ILR Financial

I'm not sure if I am under the new rules or not; we were married in 2011.

Do I need to earn a certain amount or have a certain amount? I am not working at the moment, but have £250'000 in savings. Do I still need to earn a certain amount?

Re: Will a canceled divorce affect ILR

Thanks for the response. From the UKBA web page: "If your marriage, civil partnership or other relationship permanently breaks down while your partner still has only limited permission to stay in the UK..." It says "permanently" so if two people have an argument, almost get divor...

Will a canceled divorce affect ILR

My wife and I split up. We've been on and off ever since. I want to give it one last chance, but I'd like to be divorced in a few month's time if it doesn't work out. She is due to get her ILR late next year. If I were to apply for divorce, but not go through with it, is there any chance that could ...

I just read it in another thread.

So you think that even when we are divorced, they will let her stay to the end of the two years?

Are you sure? I thought they only ignored it if there was less than 6 months left. Our divorce will be done in 6 months. I'd feel better if I could inform them knowing it wouldn't affect her as I hate having that power. She'd be over the moon if she knew she could stay for the rest of the visa's len...

Thanks.

So what I've read from this and other posts is that it is okay for me not to inform the UKBA as it is possible we could get back together. If I did inform them, they would most likely cancel her visa as there is so much time left of the 2 years.

Does that sound right?

Marriage visa after a split up

My wife is on a marriage visa. She has decided she doesn't want to be with me anymore so I want a divorce ASAP. She has 15 months left until she would have got ILR. I have 2 months until I can apply for a divorce. She wants to stay in the UK. We're still friends and she wants to visit the UK until t...

Proving your accommodation is not overcrowded

I know this has been mentioned many times, but I couldn't seem to find a definitive answer to this question. Apologies for repeating a topic. I have a surveyor's report which describes the house, but not the number of people living in it. It's my mother's house and would certainly not be overcrowded...
