I am in a similar situation as yours. I don't think you need a letter from the company that you are working for while being self employed. In my case, for the self employment part, I am taking the following with me: 1. Detailed letter from accountant setting out company information and a table showi...

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your experience. I understand you are self employed / Director of own limited company? For proof of earning you provided a letter from Accountant and bank statements to corroborate that. In addition did you provide any dividend vouchers / salary slips?

@ ilrjune11 1. Do you take only dividends or a combination of dividends + salary (Assuming you are director of your own limited company)? You mentioned you provided dividend vouchers. Did you not provide any salary slip? >>> As mentioned very clearly in doc’s List above that I submitted 12 months...

Congratulation and thanks for sharing your experience. Couple of questions: 1. Do you take only dividends or a combination of dividends + salary (Assuming you are director of your own limited company)? You mentioned you provided dividend vouchers. Did you not provide any salary slip? 2. Did you subm...

Thanks John. That does help. I know when it comes to salary UKBA considers the gross figure but I couldn't find any info on whether they consider the gross or net dividend. To be on the safer side, I thought I would only take into account the net dividend so that there is no chance of rejection. In ...

...As regards the earnings, and dividends, what are you counting? The amount of the dividends? Or the amount of the dividends and the tax credits shown on the dividend vouchers?.. Hi John, for the purpose of calculating earnings (to score points) I am considering GROSS salary and NET dividend (Not ...

Re: Query on Earnigns for ILR as a Limited company director

I am in similar situation as yours. Posted my query but didn't get any response as they might be silly questions. I spoke to a few people and did some research online and now I am kind of expert on Ltd co matters.... (just kidding). Will try to answer your queries... ...But the problem is, I regular...

Thanks for your reply abbi123 . Yes, I have to trust my accountant but before I apply , I should not make any mistakes to fall my visa rejected as I am not familiar with how dividend options works for Tier 1 earnings. When I applied earlier , I am on fulltime employment. My Question is I got the fi...

Hi, I am applying for ILR in June this year and claiming earnings (dividend + salary) from my limited company where my wife is also a director. Will there be any issue becuase of this or the main applicant needs to be the sole director? (We both hold one ordinary share of £1 each).

I am Director of my own Ltd Co too. Not an expert in this field but will try to answer your question. I think you are getting confused between "Sole trader" and "Ltd Co.". While both are termed as Self employed, they operate differently and are taxed differently too. (Like Ltd Co...

Earnings criteria for ILR - Self employed

I am all confused after reading many posts here regarding NET and GROSS salary. One application for Tier-1 was rejected recently as the caseworker considered the NET income and not the GROSS. (Which I guess is not right) There was a thread containing a template for accountant's letter.. http://www.i...
