For people that know my story and for people that don't... We unexpectedly got our family permit first time round in Madrid, last year. They received our EEA2 application on 2nd December. Today is 2nd June. Yep, 6 months have now passed. A friend of mine applied two months later than us and got thei...

I just said I'd like to know why we haven't received the COA. He asked me a couple of questions and then told me. I mean seriously so annoying though!

Just spoke to them, they sent it to the WRONG address on 21/12/12... Door number 170 instead of 17d.

Want to scream. Now I have to write by post to get another one sent.

My husband is awaiting his 5 year residence card. Is it correct that should myself and my non EU husband visit Greece, any previous ban is automatically lifted as he is now a family member of an EU citizen and has a right of entry? He is albanian so does not need a tourist visa. We want to go to Gre...

Why can't I do the translation myself if it specifically says in the guidance notes??

So as this is going to be costly would you suggest translating 6 months of my payslips from Madrid (the most recent ones before we left) and providing also a letter from my old employer in English.

I'd quite like to avoid translating the old contract I had due to money I'd need to spend.

Thank you, will I need payslips and contract things translated into English? I didn't last time but obviously then the application was dealt with in Madrid.

I could still get a letter from my employer stating when I worked there, in English but not sure it's enough?

PM me if you want the email I wrote to the Madrid consulate at, they always replied and actually told us the decision by email after we complained about the time it was taking. There isn't necessarily anything wrong with your application - ours took longer than 15 working days and the family permit ...

Anyone got any advice on this? I really don't appreciate this post being moved, it may be settling in but is based on the typical problems of a family permit, ie. banks not understand what it is.

Bank account with family permit

I am unfortunately banking with Natwest. I want my husband to either have a separate account with them or a joint one with me, whichever is easiest really. So I go in, and they tell me they will only accept him if his visa is 6 months or more, his now expires in November. Why should we have to wait ...

Thanks guys. Also I understand I will need all the work stuff from Spain as we applied under Surinder Si...

Re entering uk with family permit but no wife

Hello all, hope everyone is well. A quick query please, my husband is going to see his brother in Italy soon for 2 nights (he has an Albanian biometric passport so does not need a schengen visa for this short stay). I start my new job so cannot go, will he have any trouble leaving or most importantl...

We just came last Saturday. The immigration lady was nice, but firm and asked a few questions:

When did we get married and where
When did we meet and where
Were we both working
How long were we coming for
Do we want to work in the UK

Just be honest :)

Re: FamilyPermit - original passport sent before biometrics?

Hello My husband is applying for the EEA family permit. I have a small question. We live in Spain, but not in Madrid. Does he need to send his original passport BEFORE going to Madrid to have the biometrics done? So, we know from spain we do the application online. Do we send the documents in the p...

Ours came after 17 working days. Just came by DHL courier. I don't think they usually tell you before it arrives but as there was a delay we complained and demanded to know. They told my husband in an email that it had been granted! Good luck!

Whilst awaiting our decision and looking over our application I actually realised I made a mistake, and said my husband was deported at Gatwick, when it was actually Heathrow! They didn't seem to care clearly.
