She needs to apply for PR under the EEA rules if she is on a residence card following SS route. Assuming you are working?? There was a bit of a rule change late last year re SS route. ILR is for applicants who have a visa under the UK immigration rules. Once spouse has PR, she can apply for citizen...
Hi there Contributors to this forum were invaluable to us several years ago and I just wanted to check in again to seek advise as to what the next steps for us will involve. I am British, my wife is Pakistani. After many difficulties my wife was finally issued a family permit to Germany where I live...
To avoid confusion & jumbled responses, I have moved your question to its own thread (this one). Thank you. 5 years places it within the 2 year EU notice period at least. So in February 2018 my wife could apply for citizenship straight away? She would need to do Life in the UK and demonstrate s...
So 3 1/2 years have passed since we came back to the UK under Surrinder Singh (Feb 2013). The plan was to apply for PR at 5 years and naturalization at 6 years. Is this still looking likely with the EU situation?
I'm British, my wife is none EEA nationality. We did Surinder Singh via Germany. We moved back to the UK February 2013. Do you think we are far enough into the 6 years for my wife to still manage naturalization in 2019?
So we arrived in England on the 2nd Feb at long last! :D Could anyone advice me on the best order of what to do next? Apply for job seekers until I find work. Apply for my wifes NI number. Submit the EAA2 application. Can my wife recieve a National Insurance number before recieving the CoA? I notice...
Hey Mymorg I believe there is no set time amount to be working but guidelines of 6 months are set, although as long as the employment is genuine you can always try applying before. I have been working since February 27th 2012, with a break in the summer and a new contract beginning again in Septembe...
Wow that's incredible, so after returning from Germany the only thing that can be required is that I live in England with my wife!
I had no knowledge of Eind only Surinder Singh.
Once I gain I'm indebted to yourself and Directive/2004/38/EC, thank you you've made my day!
I would frankly focus on both of you trying to find work quickly. Benefits take a lot of time to apply for, and you are better off getting paid instead. I will do but know finding work could also take a while, I have a little saved to keep us for a few months but not enough to call is self sufficie...
Hello Just to let you know we received the passport back today, with permit, far quicker than expected (8 working days!). I want to thank those who give advice here for being a great source of information, over the last 2 years I'd be at a loss without the posts and threads that I have been able to ...
Thanks again for all the help I've received here. We went to apply for the permit on Monday, WorldBridge like their extra services, 40 Euros to sent the application to the main center and have it returned again! I just hope we get the passport and documents back before February, I'll let you know ho...
Thanks again for the help I've received here. I've decided to try for the family permit and hope it comes through in time. One question though. Our marriage certificate, passports, are in English but my work contract and pay slips are naturally in Deutsch. It just occurred to me they may want them t...
Thank you that's good to know. If we can manage it in time we may just get the family permit so that it's settled, I just resent taking a day off work, travelling all the way to Berlin and then paying €20 more for the courier service to return our documents, the costs begin to add up for a free visa...
Thank you, so I should be able to speak to UKBA officials and then allowed entry to Eurostar? Having never been through France to England I don't know how the controls and border works there. Eurostar will not see you ticket or allow your wife to board without an EEA family permit. I do understand t...
Thanks for the reply. I would be travelling with her and we would naturally carry our marriage certificate along with my German work contract and pay slips for the last year, plus her German residency card. Would this be enough to satisfy without the family permit or could we be denied boarding on t...
Hello Me a British citizen and my none EU spouse with a German residency card plan to travel to England by Eurostar, Frankfurt to Brussels, Brussels to London. We could apply for a family permit but the cost of a long trip to the nearest Embassy is a cost we could do without, and I know that under E...
Hello I am a British citizen currently living and working in Germany, I have been here since the end of December and working since the 27.02.2012 and I have a contract which runs out on the 20.07.2012. My wife a Pakistani citizen entered with me on a Schengen visa and intends to apply for a residenc...
Hello I ask here as I'm still a little unsure as what exactly must be shown and how to go about applying and have received great help here in the past. I am a British citizen currently living and working in Germany, I have been here since the end of December and working since the 27.02.2012 and I ha...
Thank you again! :) So my wife arrives in Spain and then we both apply for residency cards or just me? Then once I've worked for the time needed to satisfy I apply for the family permit just before leaving for England, or is that something I should apply for soon after arriving in Spain? I hope to o...
Very helpful actually, thank you! :) I lack any qualifications and have little work experience so wherever I go it will be a challenge, Spain was just an example as I know a family there. So my wife will need to apply for a Schengen visa, is that all? And can it be refused easily? After that I must ...
Hello I'm an English citizen and recently married my wife whom is from and living in Pakistan (A Pakistani citizen). I'm currently looking at the option of moving to another EU country, possibly Spain or Italy in order to work there the 6 months required before bringing my wife back to England. I ho...
Hello there. I first met my wife last year during a 2 week visit to Pakistan, this year I have creturned to Pakistan for 4 months and married her during my stay here. I have no job currently so I plan to return to England and secure a job for 6 months then start applying for my wife's visa. I'm an E...
