Re: Effect of discharged DRO on Citizenship/ILR

A DRO is registered with the insolvency service and recorded on a public searchable register. This is one of the checks done by ukvi when you apply for citizenship Unsure if your dates are correct, but no one could possibly tell you what the requirements and potential changes will be for either ILR...

Re: Effect of discharged DRO on Citizenship/ILR

I can only comment on citizenship - ILR is immigration and there may be different requirements. In terms of being in debt as such doesn't disqualify you from naturalisation, even defaulting and CCJs are not an issue as long as you comply with the repayment arrangements and other agreements you have...

Re: ILR Refused due to tax amendment

Hi everyone, First of all thank you for your feedback. In my case I had two amendments. The first amendment was done mistankly by the accountant for which I was totally unware. Accountant wrote on letter for UKVI it was done by staff member mistakenly. I came to notice this in 2016 before my ILR app...

ILR Refused due to tax amendment

Dear members, My ILR app has been refused. The reasons were: 1. Declaration of wrong self assessment for 2010-11 at time of initial Tier 1 General app in 2011. 2. Spent more than 90 days (126) days outside tge UK On my questionnaire I received from UKVI I had attached the updated SA302 (tax calculat...

Dear cs95tdg, The member confused_skilled_migrant has made me confused too . Now I have again checked on UKBA website and it says: During the continuous residence period, you cannot be outside the UK for more than 180 days in any 12 consecutive months. The absences must be for a reason that re...

Hi all,

This is a very tricky paragraph by UKBA. 180 days, I am still not sure, is it 180 days in whole 5 years or 180 days in a consecutive 12 months period.

Would anybody explain this to me?

Dear cs95tdg (Guru) As per my understanding it does not mention total no of absentees. It says about maximum no of days allowed are 180 in a single year. So, if somebody lives outside UK for more than 180 days then his/her one year will not be counted towards the 5 years period for ILR. Am I correct...
