At the moment she has a life interest in a property (house) that will be inherited by me and my cousin on her death. The house is rented and that rent is her present income. She does not own the house and neither do we (yet). If we can all agree to sell the house I guess half of the proceeds will co...

Serious health issues can be a reason but that may be difficult. Read about dependency in chapter 5 in the ECIS . Thanks! I wouldn't say she has serious health issues -- she hardly ever needs a doctor and apart from a cataract she had a few years ago theonlythink wrong with her is the frailty of ol...

Family Permit: Definition of Dependent

Another question from me. I am a German citizen living in the UK since 2001. I am originally form Guyana, South America, and now I want to bring my mother over to live with me. According to the directive, I can bring in dependent relatives in ascending line, so she would qualify. However, she is not...

However, I would like to know the chances of such application and would like to seek professional advice to help me with this application. Can anyone...

Today, I called this immigration website http://www.ukvisaandimmigration.co.uk/what-we-do.php and spoke to an advisor, describing my case in detail. She said that as I am a EU citizen I would only have to pay £800 for my mother to come over, whereas as a British citizen it would be £1800. ANyone ...

Hello! I'm about to apply for BC but am nit sure about the following criteria: If you are a national of a country in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, or you are the family member of such a person, you will automatically have permanent residence status if you have exercised EEA free-m...

Hi Vinny, thanks for replying and sorry it took so long; I did not know that anyone had replied. I tried to read the link you posted, but unfortunately I am not very good at interpreting "legalese". Am I to understand that "widowed" can include "divorced" or even "...

Hello! My situation is a little different... I find it strange that they specify that the older relative must be widowed! I've read this over and over again and they even underline the bit about being widowed. This is very strange. What if the mother was never married, or is divorced? My mother, who...
