Indefinite Leave to Remain Vignette in Expired Passport

Hello I have not posted here for many years as I have not had the need to. My wife is a Canadian National who has Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) since April 2011. This was granted based on marriage to me following entry via a Fiancee Visa and then 2-year Limited Leave as was in place at the time. ...

She holds her expired Canadian passport with her ILR sticker inside and a current Canadian passport issued by the High Commission in London. We have come across this online about changed that came into force re: Right to Work chec...

The number is 0300 222 0000.

You need to quote the Application Barcode number when you ring.

Where have you seen that it will "automatically be granted"?! I read at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/guidance/ecg/ecb/ecb4/#header2 that "Where a non-visa national insists on applying (even if an entry clearance is not required), the application should be accepted.&...

See http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/general-info/visa-holders/ Others may clarify, but my own personal understanding is that having a visitor's visa greatly reduces the chances of being bounced. The difference is that when applying for a visa the applicant establishes their bona...

If she is overly worried about being refused entry ("bounced") she can apply for a visit visa beforehand. thank you, I'd considered that course, but I then read at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/guidance/ecg/ecb/ecb4/#header2 that a visa application from a non visa nationa...

I have always liked Vince Cable the part that makes me laugh is “There is an issue here. I vividly recall a conversation I had with a constituent before the general election and she was taking me to task for what she said were ‘millions of illegal immigrants in the country’. “Perhaps rather reckles...

1) see http://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/civil-statu ... ion-office - 'Note' at bottom of page.

2) Not 100% sure but I would think it does count as absence since Gibraltar is not a part of the UK but rather a British Overseas Territory.

Croatian family members to UK after 01.07.2013

Brief history - Mrs Simmo is Canadian with ILR in UK, I am British citizen. Our in-laws are retired in Canada, they are naturalized Canadian citizens. They also hold Croatian passports, having emigrated to Canada some years ago. I understand that once Croatia accedes to the EU on 1 July this year, t...

So today marked the 20 working days UKBA had to respond (within law) to my request. But they have not!

Have sent a chaser e-mail - although looking at the site I used quite a few people have overdue FoI requests with the UKBA at present :(

US nationals constitute one of the largest groups of denials of entry at my port together with Brazilians who are well known for overstaying and illegal working. a european visa might be worth investing in too if going to france too? if you are concerned that uk might refuse entry, eu could too. Can't say for sure but I doubt that she would get half as much potential grief entering Schengen. We go a couple of times a year with my Canadian wife and in four c...

Wife has new passport - ILR sticker?

She has just renewed her Canadian passport and received her new document yesterday from the Canadian High Comm...

I am a current IO. First off, you needn't have waited in the non-Eu queue. The convention is that non-EU family members should be seen at the EU queue if travelling with the EU passport holder. In fact, we are instructed by managers to see all and any passengers at any desk they present themselves....

Know this is slightly off-topic but wondering in particular if any of the current/ex IOs on this board can maybe comment?
