Why? Are they no suitable people in the whole of the UK for one to marry?. The wise and the clever people are those that get married in the UK.Just imagine how much time, money, worrying etc you will save yourself. Not forgetting being able to communicate with your spouse in the same language You co...

Re: Income requirement changing from April??

They need to give at least 21 days notice of any statement of changes to the immigration rules. Given the significance of the changes i think they will give more notice than this by releasing a statement of intent a few weeks before the 21 days which is what they have done with announcements in oth...

The first post describes my situation. Now I found cheap flights to Africa, so I am considering to meet her second time. Obviously it would be better for her to visit the UK to see this place, but on the other hand its much more easier for me to just buy a visa to Africa (hassle free). But am just t...

Re: I am in the same boat

JP70, I am in the same boat as you. Casa has a very valid point and I can confirm it is paramount that the applicant has strong ties to her home country and is financially capable of meeting the expenses. I had an ex girlfriend who, despite I accepted all expenses, paid tickets etc., was refused he...

one more: this is for dating/future fiancee visa purposes as we better meet now second time. Is it good to mention this on visitor visa as a reason why she comes, or it makes things worse (as they might think that she does not leave the country because "I like her")? Better just put that s...

Re: It may be easier.....

It may be easier for your visitor if you sign a "sponsorship undertaking form." The ECO may regard you are more serious in sponsoring your visitor in that you voluntarily has been proactive and sought out your responsibilities as a sponsor. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/g...

Re: Visitor visa - support question (overdraft)

I would like to get a visitor visa for my friend to visit in the UK for one week. I have a full time job (£900/month after tax) but I have loans and my bank account is below zero (-£600). But I have about £200 extra money after all bills and loand payments so I can support my friend. But are my loa...

Help with my next step on fiancee visa

Hi, I have been in a daily phone/internet contact with one woman for almost 2 years now. She is from Africa and I visited her there last summer for one week. I am not a british citizen but from Europe and been living in the UK for 9 years. Now I am not sure what is the best next step getting a fianc...

I just noticed that. They say its easier for EEA persons. Anyway, the point is that I can legally live in the UK. The point is that the EEA regulations are completely different from the UK immigration rules. This is why we have a separate sub-forum here. And if you are not a permanent resident then...

It seems to me at the moment that my best option might be moving temporary to Africa and marry there. Also living costs/rent is much less there so we should be ok as I can continue my business online (the only thing I dont like there is slow internet, bad roads/trafic, risk of mosqitoes... but there...

Best way to proceed marriage with African

I just came from Africa where I met my girlfriend. Looks nice and promising. What would be the best way to proceed from here? Situtiation: low income, like £450/month. She works full time and gets like £250 which is ok there as rent is less than £100. She has like £1500 savings. I was thinking 2...

I agree with Greenie. Casa, like a friend to friend: I do answer properly, if there is an analyzis done and your comments have logical argument. I've come up with a solution that seems to have been missed! If the ECO doesn't accept that you'll be able to support your fiancee and says (quote) "we dont believe that you would like to live with only £65/month if you be with him/her" or doesn't believe the relationship will subsist (c...

Actually, the good question here is, that would it be easier/cheaper to marry in Africa and then trying to get a marriage visa instead of getting fiancee visa to the UK? Am not very excited about the idea living in mosqitoe areas :) plus no proper internet connections etc. So I need help here.

Let's hope you're not wasting your money on poor advice then. The reason you can't use someone living outside of the UK for 3rd party financial support is due to the fact that if they default, it would be impossible to enforce it. Not everyone is as reliable and trustworthy as your brother may be. ...

Do you know something? I reckon it's best if you just do it your way as you say you're convinced that most things can be faked easily enough to convince an ECO. Don't expect any help from the forum with this route though. Logically speaking, If I am convinced that most of ways can be faked, that do...
