Re: T1 (G) to ILR === English ====

Hello Everyone, As per the new rule effective from 06th April 2016, do I need to go for English Language Assessment (ELA) through UK NARIC even if I have proved my English Language eligibility in T1 (G) initial and extension applications (over 5 - 6 years)? I had proved the same using PBS calculato...

Re: iLR == from Tier1 General == English

Hi Geriatrix, What is the mail address to clarify this. I sent a mail to workoperationalpolicy@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk but have not received a reply. During my experience was very good and I received reply in couple of days from this mail id hence not sure if this mail id is still usable. Cheers, Jacob

Re: iLR == from Tier1 General == English

Overseas qualifications: It is yet unknown whether ELA / SOC statements obtained from NARIC before 06-Apr-2016 can be used to support an ILR application on / after 06-Apr-2016 or whether applicants must now include statements obtained through the newly launched NARIC Visa and Nationality Service . ...

Re: Point Based Calculator going away

Jacob123, Not sure but I suspect that the standard SOC and ELA letters may no longer be accepted by UKV&I. Dear members, any of you who attended PSC starting 6th, pls share your experience. Did any of you use traditional Naric ELA or SOC for your degree to prove English requirement. Cheers, Jacob

Re: Point Based Calculator going away

Jacob123, Not sure but I suspect that the standard SOC and ELA letters may no longer be accepted by UKV&I. Thanks Geriatrix. I will try to call both Naric and home office again to see what they suggest. I ha asked them before applying for ELA and they did mention that there will be a transition...

Re: Point Based Calculator going away

In fact I have not even received my ELA yet as Naric is currently processing it. Do I now need to apply for Naric letter through...

Re: Help on English Language for ILR (Tier 1 + Tier 2)

Yes, PBS Calculator for english will be discontinued from 5th April, pls search for my posts and you will get little more details around it. From 6th April Naric is starting a new service (@ £125) that will replace the existing PBS calculator. I checked with both Naric and home office and they said ...

Re: ILR PSC Appointment - Croydon no slots

Thanks CR001, Screenprint, RRSB2012. I will wait for couple of days and hopefully slots will open in Croydon. Logistics wise it is just abt 35 minutes drive, hence much easier for me, otherwise I am ok for any PSC. Will keep you updated.

Re: ILR PSC Appointment - Croydon no slots

Many thanks CR001 and Screenprint. Based on your experience do you suggest I book the available one for Solihul (which is like 4 hour travel for me) now and change once Croydon becomes available.

Dear moderators, The changes are creating so much confusion. As the point based calculator to prove English language is retiring from 6th April, I was planning to us Naric's English language assessment service. Now Naric is launching a visa and nationality service from 6th.So if we get ELA done will...

Re: Visa fee increase from 18th March 2016 not April 6th

So the question is - if a PEO booking is done before 18th of March for an actual appointment for April (or any date after 18th March) - do they charge old fees or the new fees at the time of booking. Moderators can probably answer based on previous years experience. Cheers, Jacob. CR001 has answere...

Re: Visa fee increase from 18th March 2016 not April 6th

I guess nothing much can be done on the start date when home office wants to implement the increased fees. One question - We can book PEO appointment 42 days in advance. In a situation when say I need an PEO appointment on the 27th or 28th April, the PEO booking can be done on the 16th or 17th March...
