Lets start with the good Ireland and the UK are talking about a mini-Schengen between the two countries as successor to the CTA: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/republic-of-ireland/uk-ireland-visa-rules-reform-calls-16158195.html And n...

Whenever you are doing something you are unsure about, or which is not explicitly blessed, it is worth keeping, hidden away in your pocket a plan B As far as i am concerned the plan B option is not a plan B at all, it is a plan A and the only plan and it is our duty to fight for our lawful rights a...

...i knew it

"non-EU nationals who reside in the UK and hold residence permits with a specified validity are required to obtain a visa in order to visit Gibraltar"

Makes a lot of sense as always.

So even though you had a RC, there was still a little problem at Dublin airport? You had to show your marriage certificate? Well i would not call it a problem, the whole thing lasted 5 minutes at most. We exited the plane and went to the "all passports" stand. I went first and my wife was...

Directive/2004/38/EC wrote: Do you have a German issued Residence Card?
Yes i have a German issued card of a Family Member. We did also take a bunch of print outs about the Directive and even UK EEA immigration Regulations 2006(for Belfast), but we never used them, no need.

My wife and i, just came back from Belfast. We originally flew from Germany to Dublin, which was easy enough, i had the Directive and all sorts of printouts with me. In Dublin the IO looked at my card, i saw he was a bit reluctant, so i said: "my wife is traveling with me, would you like our ma...

Looks like the UKBA is not focusing on silly matters like fighting drugs and weapon smuggling, but rather concentrating on combating the real enemy, evil "benefit tourists" from the EU their family members and other "immigrants". More here On a lighter note here is a suggestion by...

I know i have asked this before, but here i go again:

1.Is there a chance that the UK would listen to the EC and fix the mess by 26 of June?

2.If not and they do put up a fight till the bitter end, how long are you predicting that is going to take?

Thanks

The Home Office said: “We disagree with the commission’s opinion, which is not binding, and we will appeal. As the home secretary has said . . . we will not tolerate abuse of the free movement directive.” It has been more than 8 years since it came out and more than 6 years since they were supposed ...

Take a look here . I don't mean to prove that HO is bad. ;-) Two quotes: "The act enshrines the European Convention on Human Rights into UK law. But Theresa May told the Sunday Telegraph she "personally" would like to see it go because of the problems it caused for the Home Office.&q...

ca.funke, you had a nice analysis! I think that people in HO misrepresent information the same way Telegraph does. The only difference between the two is that if the Telegraph misrepresent information, you stop reading it and throw the paper in the garbage bin, but if the HO and Theresa May misrepr...

Typical British/Tory attitude, first to criticize everything about the EU especially stuff that has nothing to do with them at all like the Euro or Schengen for the sake of fearmongering and political gains. They have never offered any solutions by the way. Meanwhile the UKBA mismanagement disaster ...

I have a little more information. Apparently the EC sent a "Formal Notice" regarding 16 points to the UK. The UK had 2 months to reply, and in that time addressed 12 of the points. So now the UK has sent a "Reasoned Opinion" about the remaining 4 points. The UK now has 2 months ...

I think the media like Telegraph and others actually tell the truth about how Brits see other EU citizens. They see them as "immigrants" and "benefit tourists" dying to get to the UK and as far as thieving and criminal eastern europeans. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...
