Re: Passport interview office parking & taking 2 yr old

Hi, Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I could not find it. Does anyone know if parking is easily available at Reading and Luton passport office for the interview. I am trying to decide which one to go for. Any tips, etc for parking will be a great help. Also, I am going with my wife and mig...

Naturalisation residency requirement - 6 yrs or 12 mths ILR?

Could someone kindly comment on when can I apply for naturalisation. My HSMP was stamped on 24/01/2007 (whilst in UK), ILR stamped 29/12/2011 which makes it 4 years 11 months on HSMP/Tier General plus 12 months on ILR = 5years 11months on 30/12/2012. Now is there a specific requirement where I have ...

Thanks Jambo - Probably a daft question and I think I know the answer but seeking a second opinion for reassurance. Do you think council tax statement will be sufficient? Do you think they fall under "government department"?

Jambo - my passport expired this August and I am looking to apply for naturalisation end of this month. I am planning on sending my passport and Utility bills from August to December. Is this sufficient in your view to prove residency requirement?

Check the last page of the application form or the guide for evidence required to prove residence.
Well said! Thanks for your help.

You don't need a valid passport but will need to provide alternative evidence for your residence (payslips, utility bills etc) since the expiry date as passports are used to prove residence. Hi Jambo, I would have thought not having a valid passport is proof enough that you did not travel and staye...

Many thanks Gyfrinachgar.

Could someone also comment on when can I apply for naturalisation i.e. 4 years 11 months on HSMP/Tier General plus 12 months on ILR = 5years 11months or is there a requirement of 6 years somewhere in the law?

Question 2.1

Hi, My query is around question 2.1 I first entered UK on a student visa on 31/08/2003 but later converted it to HSMP (whilst in UK) stamp date 24/01/2007. ILR was then issued on 29/12/2011. Now the guidance notes clearly state for question 2.1 "Enter the day you first arrived with a view to st...

SET (0) Section 10

I have my ILR appointment in Croydon next week and had a question about section 10 in SET(0). I was first given HSMP on the 24th of Jan 2007 and I then extended my stay by converting to tier 1 (G). Therefore I completed section 10A (all applicants) and section 10L (for tier 1 G). Do I need to comple...

I have booked my PEO appointment at Croydon and i have 2 dependants with me. You basically need the minimum earning to score the minimum points on tier 1 in any of your last 15 months. Whether that means it is more than 30,000 or less than 30,000 almost becomes irrelevant because if you score the minumum points based on 28,000 earning than you qualify for ILR.

You need to make sure you are able to claim the minimum 75 points along with economic activity prove and the new criminality threshold! There is no requirement to be earning more than what your income was at time of extension as long as you meet the minimum points required!
