Both ways really... we only used one, because my hubby was an overstayer in the UK, and we wanted to get legal advise.

The cost in total, including visa fees:

£1,700

Many people use lawyers and many go it alone. Each case is rewarded on its own merit, regardless of legal help or not.

No problem!

If that is what the UKBA states in their guidelines, then do that! we used and immigration lawyer who put our application together, so they may have done the photocopying.

Any other questions, dont hesitate to ask!

Just one bit of advise... with regards to your phone bills and text messages. It is worth calling your provider to get them to send you itemised versions of your bills.. this way you can highlight, and the document is an original. I know nowadays you can print off your bills, but i was advised by ou...

Yes SS27.

As one of the resons they certify is they confirm the person in the photo of your passport is in fact you.

A solicitor will not certify a passport, without the person being there.

Either way it is better to over certify than not yes?

I'm the British citizen, the girl I'm marrying is in Pakistan. Is the A1 test sufficient for the English language requirements for the settlement VISA? Also in terms of the documents to send, I need my passport and driving license, so I'll get that attested. But do I need to send attested copies of...

One bit of advice also... If you have any sudden large amounts being put into your account, it is always helpful to the ECO to know what this is from, then they don't think the money has been put in for immigration purposes. For instance, I sold my car for £800 pounds, two months before my hubby an...

Not everyone is refused for overstaying. Each case warrants its own merit! A spouse visa cannot be refused only on the fact the individual overstayed, there are usually other factors that go with this to determine a refusal. If you read Spouse Visa and Overstay you will see many success stories, whe...

Hi, My husband was an overstayer of 9 months after entering the UK on a visit visa.. We were told that the only way to do this correctly, was for us to marry in his home country (which we did) and he had to apply from his home country for UK spouse Visa. My hubby has been in his home country for nea...

What was the exact reason for their refusal?

And under what grounds did your future husband apply for assylum?

This may help people advise where they can.
