We both need our passports, and can't afford to f*** around for 6-8 weeks while the masters of the universe at the embassy take their sweet time...

I know I can hand in a certified copy, but what about my wife in Ghana?

Thanks

When is this you must earn 18k minimum law coming into play?

Is there a minimum right now? Last year I took 16k salary (after tax). This would be equivalent to someone on maybe 19-20k permanent position (before tax). However I did have more dividends available to me, which I did not take, and if needed I can also take out directors loans from the company. How...

Yes I was successful, your estate agents should have the floor plan, showing measurements of each room is important because each room that can be considered a bedroom must be larger then 50sq ft I doubt it...they are useless..they didnt know what an EPC was...Ohmes letting I will ask anyway..If not...

Yes Local council do it for around £80-100 it is the cheapest way. Find the number to call online from your local council website. Estate agent or housing property rental firm will charge about £150. Some councils dont offer the service like Brent. In these areas the rate will be higher. Note: use ...

Home Inspection Reports too damn expensive, is an EPC enough

I found an EPC, energy performance cert for £40, the full on inspection are for people looking to buy a home and cost £275..I think this is overkill for a spouse visa application. It states that the EPC covers a count of all the rooms, a measure of their dimensions etc, surely add some photos to thi...

Spouse visa rejection scenario - Applying again VS Appealing

From what I can gather on this forum, a lot of people seem to prefer applying again after rejection, as there is no time limit. However I assume this leaves you open for making a mistake again and wasting even more money (if the reason was vague) And correct me if I am wrong, appealing a decision do...

It looks quite official, If it is not official and they find out it is not you will be banned for 10 years from apllying for a visa. (for supplying fake documents) If it is official then you have no worries. It will be registered in the country where it is issued and can be checked by the ECO. Alre...

cheap home survey/inspection?

the prices I'm seeing are £300...can't afford it, already paid the lawyer 1000 and need 850 for spouse visa application...is there a cheap alternative to getting the house inspected? maybe the local council can do it? or maybe I can phone up the landlord and ask for a copy? as he must have had it do...

I would also like to know the policy on partial housing benefit, in terms of the spouse visa. I have some of my rent paid by the council, but that is all. To be honest I didn't even ask for it, I simply let them know I was starting my own business and they revised it, giving me benefits for 6 months...

Why is the UK Border Agency false advertising? is it legal?

Hi Today I spoke to a lawyer about the spouse visa application, and he said that even though the UKBA website states my wifes country is exempt (due to no English test center present in the country) she may still be required to sit the english test.. So I ask...why put this on the website? Do they e...

She has now moved to Ghana..the process seems straight forward but they seem to insist on proof of stay (hotel or permenant) Do you need to pay a hotel upfront, or can you just reserve it? Also if my wife has a p...

And do they still refuse applications, despite the country being exempt? I can imagine them pulling something like that
