Re: Has anyone had an MP help overturn a decision

Yes. Very similar situation. Decision was made stating certain evidence not provided when it was.

My MP wrote to them explaining this and they overturned the decision and granted the visa.

Hopefully you'll get a positive outcome.

Re: Citizenship applications from Northern Ireland

Hello all, joining the thread as we have just applied for my husband's citizenship by naturalisation from Northern Ireland.

One question - can he gets his passport back before they decide or do they keep it for the duration of the process?

family visit visa - dob changed

Hello, My relative wants to visit me in the uk. The issue is that my relative has visited me before on a general visitor visa, however, they have recently applied for a new passport which now shows a different date of birth (last passport had dob of 1952, new one says 1962). My relative lives in a c...

set m ilr peo appt - query about time apart

I spent two months working abroad during my spouse's two year settlement visa. We have our peo appt later this week. Should we make this clear on the form and to the imigration officer? I am worried that it will mean ilr wont be granted. We meet all the criteria, application is otherwise straightfor...

peo changed appointment - now applying before 28 days

My husband booked a peo appt 27 days before his visa expires (applying for ilr from spouse of uk citizen settlement visa). Today the peo called him and said they were having issues with appts on the day he booked, and asked if they could change his appt to two days before, which would be 29 days bef...

living apart for three months during two years pre ilr

Bear with me, I find all this immigration stuff incredibly stressful (as I am sure most people do). We are getting ready to apply for my husband's ilr appointment. We are planning to apply for a same day peo appointment. I work and he stays at home with our 2 children. We own our own home. Everythin...

So the accompanying eu spouse visa would work for the wedding trip. Thanks.

On the irish visa website it states that the applicant should have held two visit visas before applying for a multiple entry visa. He has only held one. Any point applying?

So in that case, what sort of visa should we apply for? Accompanying eu spouse? The issue is that in december he would like to re-enter the island via dublin as it is cheaper than flying into london, so he would be alone then, and would presumably need a single visit visa and I am concerned about ti...

northern ireland resident non eu - how to travel to republic

I am dual irish/british citizen, born in ni and resident here with my non eu spouse who is on a uk spouse settlement visa due for ilr in 2014. Anyone else in the same boat? We would like to travel over the border frequently but don't want to apply for a single entry visa every time. Seems ludicrous ...

Hi rlow68,

The university corrected their classification before we had the chance to contact them. When we asked for clarification they sent evidence that they had already taken steps to rectify their error, and were apologetic.

Thanks!

First entry into the UK before July 9th

Hello,

Husband hs just been issued with spouse settlement visa. We weren't planning to travel until August but are now confused by the new rules - will it make any difference if he enters the UK for the first time after July 9th?

Many thanks in advance.

I don't understand. My husband has applied for a UK settlement visa. We live together outside the UK and both work. He holds a five year visit visa for the UK (expiring in 2016). Are you saying that if his application for settlement is turned down we risk him being refused visit visas in the future?...

Hi Greenie,

Thought I would let you know that the university wrongly classified him - they have changed his status to overseas now.

Thanks for your help!
