Re: Job opportunitues for an IIT, IIM grad in London?

It makes sense to come when one of you got a UK assignment in hand and the other comes as a dependent. Basically, that way you would be able to finance your stay & expenses (very expensive if it is London) while the other look for a job ( as an HSMP or dependent) . Re: experience, while UK exper...

Agreed - it will be stupid to think that the system will run at 100% efficiency. This is what the government is planning, or atleast what it appears to be a of late reality check from their side. I think it's naive to think that stricter enforcement of illegal working in the UK would prevent even a ...

Right, but the percentage of people who will resort to the below will be far less when compared to those who would plan to leave the country for good reasons. More over, this would ring a bell to all those future immigrants contemplating on illegal stay, follow and model as predecessors by the tried...

Thats right. End of the day, Govt sees the effectivness of these measures as another cash cow feeding itself into the treasury. That is when the employers pay tax & NI legit for their employees/staff rather than employing someone illegally as a 'cash in hand' employee and writing it off as opera...

Good to see that there are new measures in place. my grouse isn't about which businesses are targeted but it's about which businesses are affected. I agree. Overstaying used to be considered as a trivial matter especially with young immigrants below 30 and the HO/BIA had a very laidback attitude in tackling them. I think the situation is changing and of lately, there is a sense of urgency. I will be really surprised to know if there is anyone o...

What exactly you mean by help. If you charge money or get paid for any 'helps', then that becomes a service- taxable in the UK. Saving UK tax by registering offshore entities is a complicated affair, and proceed with caution. On the other hand, if you simply planning to provide services within UK th...
