If you look at the previous IT project failures of the UK government (e.g. the GP medical records system that was supposed to be a centralised database of patient records that any GP could access from anywhere, or the disasterous Inland Revenue Tax Credit System), it's hard to imagine that they cou...

One of the main issues at the UK port of entries is that there is no facility to check genuinity of a UK passport that is shown by a person to gain entry into the UK. The passports numbers while machine reading are only checked for blacklisted ones, not the entire database of genuine passports. A pa...

A person who is not in the country doesn't mean that he has left, if you apply the same analytics to that question ("whether you are in country after 5 days") as any body is free to leave anywhere, for the purpose of matching identity and someones true existence 'on a date', answering YES ...

I don't think letter of appointment is really important but payslips and bank statements are cross verified to make sure that income paid or shown on the payslips are correct as it appears in the bank statement .

It's true that you have to be in the country when the application is received by the Home Office, however in reality there is no way for them to know whether or not you are actually in the country at the time. This is actually asked not to find out whether the person concerned is in the country or ...

But wouldn't this mean you would have to relinquish British nationality right? But would you still be all...

I think two different employers can apply for two different permits at the same time for one employee. But I guess, the visa remains valid only one approved permit, which means the other permit is void the moment the visa is approved.

Re: Max 6 months UK 'visit'?

Brett, If you do per se in your post, yours will be purely a case of a judgmental decision for the immigration officer at the airport to grand re-entry after 6 months. To be on the safest side; I would suggest you make a return trip home about 4-5 months after your first visit and then apply for a t...

Since you are single, you may even find cheaper, decent and non-shared 1 bed accomodations, but need not necessarily be apartments in areas like Southall, Hounslow, East ham etc. They are not "very" near London, but about 30-40 minutes by public transport.
