I don't agree ... HMRC will no longer accept PAYE end-of-year returns containing any TN NINOs. Employers must now use real NINOs when making such returns. If thats the case, what would a company do if it employed Mr X without an NI on the 1st of March and X left the company on 28th March. Company i...

You can change jobs providing you obtain a new work permit first. I think OP's concern is about obtaining the first work permit (which is new) from a Business visa. After your work permit approval, from what I know, it is highly likely that HO will ask you to obtain EC from the same country that gr...

It is indeed very strange, but I guess they could have meant "self-employed" tax returns. ?

VFS’ attitude is - "everything needs to be under my control" till you get your visa stamped. The whole "photograph format" itself explains the typical bureaucracy that you would find in India. Their tactics is to make money by refusing to accept anything other than 50x50mm becaus...

If your current stay here is covered under a valid visa, then I do not see any problem at the time of your student visa to WP-FLR switch.
Its going to be fine so there is no need to panic unnecessarily.

how about for people who just worked using temporary number? How does things work for them? If you do not have an NI number, the employer will have to assign a temporary NI which usually starts with 'TN' followed by DateOfBirth in 6 digit numerals. The tax code will then be a special one - which th...

Yes you are entitled for a P45, if you had a payslip that showed tax deducted on the source (TDS) with a tax code and your NI number. This is regardless of the term you worked.

It's easy explaining the other way, London being the "big town" , gets weightage in the form of a city allowance when compared to Woking or Aston. For e.g, if the company had only 2 offices - one in Aston and the other in Inverness, then of course Astoner's will get the weightage if the co...

From my understanding, the whole business visa approval process is manually done based on the following 2 - Personal circumstances shown - Supporting evidences of the trip. With your clients case, it appears like the personal circumstances furnished ( e.g. salary, ag...

Surprise to know that there are companies around that allows prospective new starters to 'choose' their location of work. Of course, I'm assuming that you are joining as a normal staff member. Re: London/Living cost, generally speaking, Aston employees would not be given a "city allowance"...

On the other side, some employers do expect their candidates for certain posts to have some UK experience due to the nature/profile of work an...

You don't actually need a passport to apply for naturalisation and have a successful outcome, this is a quote from the guidance The OP said he "entered" UK using a passport 5 years ago, which means his immigration status was then recorded on the passport at a port of entry. I assumed he i...

SCUK, Are you currently in employment with the company? Since you have mentioned you gave the notice period first from your side, the employer and you could mutually agree on a date for early termination against the contractual terms. This has to be agreed by both parties in writing/email. If that's...

For a succesful naturalisation application, you need to have a valid passport which shows your current immigration status in the country. RE: 1st entry & absent dates, I'm not fully sure but you may have to find alternate evidences ( like NHS-GP or workpermit docs ) to file along with old passpo...

This is not uncommon, and more than that - it gives you a stronger edge, and it works in favour of you (as per PCG) to beat IR35. Basically, short term contract with no termination notice means that you are employed fixed term to complete a job that needs your skill. If you are a member of PCG, sear...
