Do you have any family members that can provide 3rd party support? They would need to provide bank statements and wage slips/employment letter if working to show the support will be forthcoming. yeah we are staying away from the visitor visa route - trying to keep the waters as unmuddied as possible and i read about people having difficulties after having already been in the UK for some time as a visitor.
