My goodness, this is ridiculous. Why can't they do them in chronological order? if you have completed 5 years (60 months) on your spousal work permit and stamp 1, you can apply for long term residency in your own right and receive stamp 4 for 5 years. if you were on stamp 3, then you would get stamp 3 for 5 years that would not allow you to work.
