Thanks Imran :) I seemed to recall a post from someone saying something about having to be careful about your answers to the customs officer when they ask about your status. I may have imagined that though, applying for ILR was a stressful time!!

Travelling for the first time with ILR

I'm travelling for the first time with ILR in 3 weeks. I'm taking both my passports and a copy of my letter from UKBA with me (and will send scanned copies to myself). Is there anything else I need to take or be aware of when I leave and re-enter the country?? Any questions asked by customs etc? Tha...

mac456 there are a number of posts about paying by Visa debit if you search. The Home Office has said that it isn't a problem, I paid by one this week and it was fine. Good luck on Monday.

Solihull success - WP holder

Firstly thanks to everyone who took the time to answer my queries. This board has been a blessing. Was granted ILR today and wanted to give a quick recount of the process in case it helps any new readers. Had a 12.00 appoinment and arrived early at 11.00 (after I finally found it!). There was a queu...

Not sure about the pay unfortunately as I'm querying a similar situation. But do you have time to apply for a technical change in employment before your appointment? I did just in case as my job title changed as well, but when I called the HO beforehand they didn't give me a definitive answer on whe...

Change in salary

Hi, my salary has increased by approx £7k over the 5 years on my work permit. I applied for and received a technical change in employment with regards to a change in job title but not in salary. Would this pose a problem? I've got copies of letters from HR with each pay increase/bonus. Appointment ...

Rajesh_kumar from your experience the pending SAR didn't affect your ILR application then? Can I ask if you applied at a PEO? Haven't received my SAR yet and my appointment is in a week.

ILR appointment with pending SAR

I sent an SAR but won't receive the information before my appointment on 25 July. However I've found the information I need so don't think I need it anymore. When I go to appointment will this pose an issue as there will be a pending SAR against my name? If so is there anyway to cancel the SAR? Advi...

5 yr WP - documentation clarification

Please can I get some clarification on section 10B of form SET(O) where it states 'Documents confirming a period of 5 years in the UK either as a WP holder throughout that period.'

Will 5 years of P60s and payslips be sufficient or do I need to provide any further documents?

Thank you.

Slightly confused now. Are you advising NOT to use the day before the arrival stamp as I may be counting days when I was actually in England as absences? Thought it was better to be safe and overestimate rather than say I left on 14 Jan when I actually left on 13 Jan on a overnight flight for exampl...

I spoke to the HO about a similar situation yesterday - came to the UK on student visa in Sep 2004 but started work permit in Aug 2006. They said that the question is phrased that way as it applies to people who were both in and out of the country. So as xyz123 said, if you switched to HSMP while yo...

Clarification on absence calculation (departure date)

As you dont get stamped when leaving the UK, should you put your departure date as the date you arrived at your destination as appears in your passport? I know that I must have done overnight flights but I dont have the flight records from that long ago. I've emailed airlines to see if they keep tha...

Payment at PEO. Help please.

I just noticed that the only debit cards stated on application form are Delta and Maestro. I have a Visa debit card which therefore appears can't be used, and my credit card limit won't allow for me to pay for it. If I pay by cheque at the PEO would that delay when I'm told whether Ive been granted ...
