Question: I am filling the application for my wife and I am using the Naturalisation Residency Calculator. after filling the dates from the passport and the GNIB card she got a total of 2276 days but he 4th stamp expired on 1/6/2012 and renewed on 02/07/2012... Its true that garda takes around 10 to 12 weeks for vetting ,if resourcees is the problem then they should charge a nominal fee and do it fast as many potential employers need garda vetting done before they apply.

You can apply for citizenship straight away but i would also advise you to wait for 5 years and then apply as citizenship based on Irish spouse takes time so better wait one more year than waiting yearssssssssssss

It's the final stage here the file is sent to the minister.Further processing is just to check all the ref. nothing else once you are in the advanced stage the things will move on fast.
