My situation is that I have a 6-month-old with an Irish citizen (by birth). We have never lived in Ireland (never been able to until now) and our child was born in the US. I can go over and put the apartment in both mine and my boyfriend's name, etc., but they will see from my passport that I've nev...

Ireland Spouse Visa

Can anyone share (advise) on the "sufficient funds" requirement of the spouse visa? My partner who is Irish works full-time doing cab and construction type work. He doesn't make a ton of money but there would be enough to cover bills, etc. I work here full-time but, of course, wouldn't be ...

CP182, don't sweat it. My wife is living with me here now with a full Stamp 4 visa. We had a LDR relationship for a couple of years and she never even was able to come here because of the difficulties in getting even a tourist visa to visit from China (where shes from). The only time we stayed to t...

You should be OK--don't lose sleep over this. I'm assuming that your partner's name appears on your child's birth cert, so I really don't foresee major difficulties. First thing to do is to familiarize yourself with this FAQ: http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP07000024 As you're American, you d...

Calling a spade a spade, in reality, because you are an American, who will unlikely have problems. That is the reality of the situation with the Irish Government irrespective of who they are. You would need to apply from Ireland as word is that the department won't consider cases involving those who...

Hi everyone, I am so confused about immigration to Ireland. My partner, who is Irish, and I, American, have decided to marry. We have a 5-month-old together. We just want the opportunity to be together and have our family together. We met in Jan of 2010 when I was on a visit to Ireland. I went back ...

Zambrano Case

Hi everyone. I am new to the board and am looking for assistance with the Zambrano case. I'm making a big leap for my family to be together and want to make sure I do everything correctly. I am an American with a 4-month-old son. His father is Irish (is from and still lives in Ireland). Therefore, o...
