Hi Omarbob, I am from Algeria and applied for a settlement visa just like you. I think your best option is to wait until you take the test, prepare for it now and try to get a higher score, don't aim for A1, you can do more than that, you have a few schools that offer a preparation course for exams ...

I thought I should share with you guys the complete history of my application, I'm so angry and wish someone could help or advise on the next step forward, I really don't want to let this story go, it's so unfair and I'm sure my wife and I are not the only ones going through such a painful time. Apr...

Hi Casa, The MP we contacted has had an answer from UKBA in less than a week. They told him my application has now been processed and I should be contacted soon. The exact words they used are : "Mr ****** should be contacted shortly by the Post to advise him to submit his passport for the visa ...

Thanks Casa, The last time my wife (we were boyfriend and girlfriend back then) contacted an MP for a previous student visa application of mine, she was asked to get a letter from me giving authorisation to enquire about my application on my behalf. Do we need to do the same for this spouse applicat...

Situation getting worse and worse.

Hi everyone, I applied for a spouse visa from Algeria on the 4/04/2011 which has been sent back to me on the 22/06/2011 on the grounds that they couldn't not find my biometric data that has apparently been lost due to a system failure. I went back to UKBA business partner Worldbridge and gave my fin...

Hi chrisini77, My story is not much different from yours really, Apart from a few details. I studied in a private English school in London from February 2008 to March 2010. Few months before my visa had expired (October 2009), I lodged an application to the UK Border Agency through the school’s Vi...

I have sent a complaint letter to the Entry Clearance Manager in the Algerian Embassy. Let's see what happens now.
I still think it's not normal that it takes 3 months to realise Biometrics are missing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been two months since the most recent application, not seven. It is unfortunate that you were amongst the few whose biometrics were not as per standard required, and that you've had to submit them again. As per UKVisas website , settlement visa application from Algeria take about 5-12 weeks to...

Uk Spouse Visa Nightmare!!!!

Hi everyone, I met my wife when I was studying in London in 2009, we lived together for a year before we got married. We decided we would have the ceremony and registration in my home country and apply for a spouse visa from there. We thought it was the wisest thing to do as my previous student visa...
