OK. Well what about calling the French embassy in London? You do not need to have a lawyer to appeal. I would suggest you look through the highlighted documents I have collected at http://eumovement.wordpress.com/other-schengen/ Free movement specific portions are highlighted in yellow Thanks for t...

Get Solvit involved now. Also complain to the European Commission. See http://eumovement.wordpress.com/2011/11/29/complain-effectively/ Are you based in the UK? This is the problem. UK Solvit are useless.... It is a one man band, and Ms. Chris Kcorz who runs this does not have the interest of the r...

Moderator EDIT (ca.funke): Real name of caseworker removed. Although I can't help here, I am in a similar situation being refused under 2004/38 directive for my husband. I want to say that UK Solvit, Ms. (...) is useless. No point in contacting her. She is a one man band who tries to find ways that...

French Embassy Islamabad refused visa for hubby 2004/38 dir.

This post is more of an update to our case, for my husband, who is in Pakistan, and we are trying to get him a schengan visa to France under the directive 2004/38. As per my last posts, hubby went for interview and all went well and was told that he would get a call to pick up his passport within 15...

Just goes to show that one shouldn't give up and take no for an answer. Good idea involving the French in the UK - very inventive! Hope it works out for you. Thanks, Emilie (I know thats not your name, but thats what I read, when i see your username!) Yes, a friend suggested I contact the French em...

Funny how you want to 'claim asylum' in only western countries. My thoughts and opinions on your story aside, as far as I know, when claiming asylum you have to go to the next nearest country to where you are, not travel through continents to get to England. Since you are in the UAE, why not hop acr...

Many of the embassy staff will actually be locals (no disrespect to the locals meant of course). What this means is that they might not be familiar with the regulations or even what the French embassy's website says. Keep at them and don't give up! I think your right, this is the impression that I ...

Their website even states that spouses of EU Member States do not need an appointment and that they can just come to the embassy Monday to Thursday between 8:30am and 9:30am - lies. Security guard will not even let them near the gate, without evidence that an appointment has been set up. I cannot b...

Theoretically, you should be able to make the application directly to the embassy. Try this page for the names of officials. http://www.ambafrance-pk.org/Consular-Section-in-Islamabad,1965 Thanks for the link. I have emailed them and contacted them on numerous occasions. I get illiterate responses ...

When you fill in the visa form, there should be "*" against those items not applicable to family members of EU nationals. It's pretty clear and you should try and insist that Gerry's take the application. Or another tactic try another embassy and skip France? Thanks for your response. My ...

Third party visa agent won't forward application to Embassy

This is a long one, sorry! As some of you know, I had some issues around this time last year, in getting me husband over to France under the Directive 2004/38/EC. We never made the journey. The French Embassy in Pakistan uses a third party visa agent called Gerry's to take in applications and make a...

I agree with you 100% that it is an exhausting and difficult application process anywhere, and I am sure it is even more difficult in Pakistan. Hats off to your husband! Have you ever lived together? I will look into the Carpenter case. I do not, on first think, assume your husband needs to be in t...

Does this mean he can apply for the EEA FP from Pakistan without need for travelling to France first? I looked at the Carpenter case, but according to that the non EU spouse was already in the UK about to be deported. I can't see how in that context we are similar. If we are then It's a God send. For Singh to work, in general, you need to be employed or self-employed in another member state before returning to the UK. See regulation 9 of the regs. You may of course be able to argue other cases or even push the boundaries of case law. I would suggest you try and keep it simple. So I guess th...

This is a different kettle of fish to what you'd posted in the European thread. If Singh is your real objective, you would need to be self employed in France to be able to use it. So for the purpose of Surinder Singh, would "posting" myself from my UK Business be classed as an economic ac...

See also your other thread. I can understand why you made a separate one, but if Singh is your objective, it would be better to have stated that. Self-sufficient won't work according to 2006 regs. Employed or self-employed will. http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?p=621157#621157 Thanks ...
