I would just tell them you have a valid visa and if they ask for how long say it is renewable as long as you're employed.

Please do keep us posted on both your applications. I submitted my extension application last week and am really hoping to go for a week's travel in July.

Questions 28 & 29 on FLR

On the extension application, they are asking for:

HSMP reference number
Home Office reference number (if you have one)

Can someone confirm what this means? For both I've put the reference number that was at the top of my original approval letter. Or is it a number on my entry clearance stamp?

Well well, your statements have now made my day! :)

Good to know about the recorded delivery thing. Will put my home address on it then.

Thanks. :) I'm a little paranoid about the application, as usual! Hmm...I've been here for nearly five months now, and it has been both exhilarating and challenging. Having lived in New York I think made things a lot easier in terms of adjusting to a new city, but other things have been extremely fr...

Almost ready to file extension...

I'm getting ready to send off my FLR next week and just wanted to check in about several things: First, I was ultra-organized with my original application, using a tabbed file with an annotated exhibit list. It appears to me that the extension application does not have to be so intense (at least I h...

Chess, you are correct, and I am a tad worried about it. But I secured work one month after I arrived and have been working steadily since. I plan to include the evidence you noted, plus copies of invoices for my work and proof of self-employment. I am hoping, as you say, that it will be smooth sail...

Thanks for posting. I am guessing this does not apply to extension applications? If I file my extension 28 days before my leave to enter ends and they are still considering it after it expires, I assume I can still continue to work?

Ugur,

Congrats on your extension. I am up for extension, too. My first year leave to enter ends on 30 June. How early did you apply, and what is Cannock? That destination is not shown on the FRL. Many thanks for your help.

Keep calling the jobcentres. It took me two weeks to get through. I finally got someone helpful and explained my desperation. I had an appointment within a week. In the meantime you can continue to use your TN.

self-employed vs. limited companies

Hello everyone. As being new to the UK and new to freelancing, I'm quite confused as to whether or not I should register myself as a limited company. I hear a lot of other freelancers are simply self-employed, yet most agencies won't pay people this way. And how can the government be okay with peopl...

Extension applications

Thanks for that link. It is tough for me to find what I'm looking for, so hope it's okay to ask again... My initial visa is up at the end of June. Based on the latest processing times, when should I be sending in my extension application? (I realize I can't travel while my application is being proce...
