Thank you, Directive/2004/38/EC.

Very interesting.

I'll be keeping an eye on that webpage.

That doesn't make much sense to me. A residence card would only be useful for longer stays (and one wouldn't get one for the first few months). Maybe they just refer here to prolonged but temporary covers provided by other European health insurers on the EHIC. I know, but that's what they require i...

From what I understand, they do accept the EHIC card from students, however, you need to be here only temporary (from day X to day Y), and specifically mention that in a covering letter: NOT worth it. Furthermore, it wouldn't cover my partner anyway. I was just wondering whether it could be a good t...

Absolutely...!

We will most definitely go with Aviva.

Should we also include my EHIC card as well as his US insurance card?

Re: Yes

Thanks for calling, as well as reporting back. I do understand the reasons behind it of course. I also answered your reply in the other thread, we'll probably go with Aviva (Healthier Solutions), seems to be the best choice for us. If anyone reading also has Aviva, I'd love to hear from them. Thank ...

Nonspecifics, The problem here seems to be the disparity of treatment. I had never thought about CSI before, simply because I thought the EHIC card would have been fine, for both myself and my partner...Now I know better, but I don't think it would hold up as a good excuse with UKBA. Also not sure w...

Re: Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

Update 9/9/2011: Also spoke with BUPA this morning, they mentioned the same 6-month rule, and the fact that we need to be registered with a GP. I'm a student (EEA Italy), partner is self sufficient (US Citizen). This is crazy. How is someone supposed to get CSI if there are rules set in place preven...

Re: CSI

nonspecifics, Would you please call them and see what they tell you? We tried purchasing CSI online, but there's a form to fill out with the following Yes/No question: "I confirm that I have been a resident in the UK and have been registered with a NHS General Practitioner for at least 6 months...

Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

Hi everybody, My partner and I are almost ready to send his EEA2 application package, but we're having problems finding a suitable CSI provider. We knew of WPA, but today, as we were online trying to purchase CSI, we discovered that in order to join their plans, one must be resident in the UK for mo...

Proof of Cohabitation + Original Documents

My partner and I are applying for his EAA2 Residence card. Most of my doubts concerning how to proceed have been cleared, however, as we now try to put together all the pieces of the puzzles, I'm left with two doubts: 1. My partner and I have been living at the same address since March 2006, a condo...

What stamp did he get? There's a code starting with LNX and a 5-digit number (I suppose it is just a reference to the entry in the database), and then it says: Leave to enter for/until (with "until" crossed out) Three Months ---------------------------------------- No work or recourse to ...

Thank you once again Alekos. I'm having a look at jobseeker online right now and will register ASAP. My reason for not seeking employment right now is that I need to put a monstrous effort on my studies (which means a lot of extracurricular "work" on campus), in order to be able to secure ...

You entered the UK on 22 JUN. Applying on or near 19 SEPT as a student is fine. Your partner will get a Certificate of Application within a month of applying with which he will be able to prove a right to be here. Hi Alekos, Thanks once again for your helpful answer. I was reading through the "...

You don't need to exercise treaty rights for the first three months after entering the UK. Apply by September and your partner will be "on hold". Thanks for clarifying that for me Alekos. Can we just go ahead and file the application within the next few weeks (considering it will take HO ...

Thanks to you both Alekos and Jambo, I appreciate your contribution as it helps ease some of my concern. Alekos: I won't be physically enrolled in school until Induction week on September 19th, does that mean that right now I am not exercising treaty rights and cannot therefore sponsor my partner? I...

Hi all,

I just found your website and I’m trying to go through the impressive amount of information in the “EEA-route Applicationsâ€
