Hi,

I am in the same boat here. I want to get Indian citizenship for my daughter who is BC now. I understand some one has mentioned that they can have both passports until they reach the age of 18. Can we apply for Indian citizenship while she is minor in this case?

Thanks

News on Dual nationality Law in India

Hi,

I know at the moment India does not allow Dual Nationality. They have OCI and PIO which is next to useless for children.

Does anyone knows if there is a legislation in pipeline about dual nationality (proper Indian Passport)?

Regards,

Indian citizenship eligibility

Hi,

When applying for Indian Citizenship (minor or adult) , does it makes any difference if applicant's Mother was Indian Citizen at the time of applicant's birth. Currently Mother and Father are both no longer Indian citizen (they are BC).

Many thanks,

In the OCI process the life long multiple entry visa is stamped on the foreign passport along with the OCI booklet. Hence it is imperative that you have foreign passport when you apply...

The only difference being that the children of a child born under 1) will not be British if they are born outside the UK. BC is passed down only one generation when outside the UK.
Thanks. If they are born in UK could they be registered as Indian?
