From my experience it works, Any document from HMRC cannot be ignored. But like plum asked what way ae the rights being exercised, if yu are working then they can check this via NI number and wageslips. If for example not working anymore the HMRC letter with NI number will help HO to do checks, you...

HMRC document

Just want to know from experience here. Does HMRC document showing National Insurance contribution toward your pension be use as proof of exercising treaty right under eea route? Or is there any other document better than that if you cannot get hold of any other common documents.

Well couple of things, unlike you I am educated, I had an HSMP so Visa was never a problem for me, I have had interviews with HO and I must say they have always been courteous and polite to me. But again people get the treatment they deserve if I behaved like an idiot they would treate me like crap...
