FPN's dont go on your Criminal record, especially this one on the spot done and dusted...as per UKBA if there is any criminal conviction which dont involve jail term gets spent in 24 months, that means you are safe to apply. I think its enough as long as you have enough points for your earnings, there is no such question in the application , are you working at the moment or not?

Someone giving you wrong advise, You are fine to apply ILR.
You can apply 28 days before 12th March 2015, that means sometime in Feb 3rd Week 2015.

As it stated there is no maintenance required, yes it is advisable to have some money in your account.

You are absolutely right Harshil, there is no requirement to submit SA returns if you are not self employed, coming to the absences as you said there is no need to submit the proof if you are not out of the country for more than 180 days.
