Quick question, should I book flight home and send the ticket info to the visa people before I even know if I will be given the visa? I have a letter from my university stating that I need to be in the United States for school in April as proof I am returning to the United States. It seems risky to ...

Yes. Although after marriage, you'll be applying for a PBS Tier 2 dependant visa rather than a spouse visa. Ok thank you. I guess I'll tell my fiance that this is a better course of action. We'll both be bummed we got to delay seeing each other but thats how it goes. you don't have to delay your vi...

Re: Question about Fiance/Spouse Visa

I recently got engaged and my partner lives in the UK. She is from New Zealand and I am from the United States, we met while we were both working in South Korea. She is currently working as a public school teacher and on a tier 2 sponsored work visa. We've been going back and forth between USA and ...

Sorry.

So I'd apply for a vistors visa to marry and then perform a ceremony there. I'd then leave and then apply for my spousal visa.

Is this correct?

I'll tell ya, some men will storm the gates of heaven and hell for love. Me, I'm dealing with international red tape for love.

Advice needed

My missus and I just got engaged two weeks ago. I am from the US and she is from New Zealand. She left today(Jan 7th) to go back to London. I was going to follow her next Sunday but now I'm wondering if that's the best course of action. The original plan was for me to come visit over Feb. and March....

Ok fair, but if I come back in a month or so will that be a problem? I had planned on traveling for the 6 months, just not all in the UK. My missus lives here and its nice to come see her for a bit then head off again.

Then I'd leave in Feb.

Two different Visa stamps!

I originally came through the UK about a month ago. I was given a 6 month visitors visa. Which would expire in Feb. I then left and traveled through Holland and the Netherlands for a bit. I have several tickets booked for October but they stamped my passport with a new visa stamp that says i need to...

It is not correct that they will give 6 months entry regardless of the stated duration of the visit. They can give less than this in certain circumstances. So for how many months do you intend to stay in the UK altogether in the 12 month period since you landed. We would like to stay about a period...

So if I'm honest, use documents to back up my story and maybe have my missus speak on my behalf theres a bit of hope. Thats good. The plan was to leave at the end of the school year in May or June for the US. Basically if we can prove we aren't trying to scam the government by moving here and stayin...

What happens if at the end of my 6 months I try to come back in a week later?

Is it an automatic refusal?

Also, would it be worth it to apply for a long term vistas visa for a year?

We've lived together as an unmarried couple for a year. Hell we share a bank account.

See also VAT1.5 Frequency and duration of visits . Thank you. What I'm wondering is if the 6 months is set in stone or can I move them with my tale of expatriate love? For example, if i just explain the situation to the ECO and prove I'm moving on from the UK at a specific time if I can be in here ...

American in the UK already. Question about staying.

Hi, I'm an American and I've landed in the UK with my girlfriend who is from New Zealand. We met while we were both working abroad and neither of us have lived in our home country for nearly 5 years. We have saved up enough money over the years and wanted to do a bit of a year long holiday by travel...
