Option 2 is good and my friend did this way and you can apply once she complets the 2 year

Yes applied from chennai. My wife is still at chennai. It is a black box you can't find the progress. The only update comes from VFS

Checked with immigration people/ advisor and decided to go for the settlement as visitor would mean we have to break the rule of must go after the visa expires!!
