I am in same situation like you. I have only 10 more months of visa validity. But have the confidence that i can earn the required amount for my visa extension. But if somebody could answer the questions it will be of real great help in taking the decisions.

You can show the earnings in INR too but you cannot use the uplift ratio. if the GBP + INR(converted on the current day rate to GBP) arrives to th eamount you require then you can extend your visa.
