Re: Switching from Teir 1 (G) to Marriage visa (in country)

I have been on Tier 1 General for nearly 5 years. I'm aware that means I'm eligible for ILR in my own right... however I don't meet the points requirement due to lack of earnings. Although I would meet the financial requirement for spouse visa. Its close for my ILR... but not quite enough. Either wa...

Switching from Teir 1 (G) to Marriage visa (in country)

Hello I am in the UK, and, my current Tier 1 General visa expires in about 3 months, and I plan to switch to a Partner Dependent visa (as my wife has recently become a British citizen, settling after 5 years Tier 1 + 1 year ILR). My query is under which route (if any) is it possible to switch? It se...

Re: Horrible experience at the NCS

I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect every council across the uk to train the their clerks to the level that is required for a complete understanding of all settlement and naturalisation routes (that’s for the Home Office). But instead, for a bulk of standard applications, the NCS expedites the p...

ILR before citizenship?

Hello I am currently on a Tier 1 Highly Skilled visa that will expire in June 2015 (at which time I will be eligible to apply for ILR – having held my Tier 1 visa, and lived in London for the past 5 years). My question is, that I have since married a British Citizen… so potentially I don’t need to a...

Thank you very much for your reply.

Do you know if I need to cancel the appointment, will I be able to get a refund?

Thanks again.

SET (O) ILR same day appointment

Hello I would like some advice about booking a same day appointment for me SET (O) ILR application. The ukba website mentions that a £100 deposit is paid for the appointment, but when I get to the payment stage of the process, it seems it will charge the full £1426 upfront. Does anyone know if this ...

My current tier 1 visa expires mid October 2013, meaning I will be eligable to apply for ILR mid September 2013.

I was granted my original tier 1 visa in October 2008.

I extended my tier 1 visa in September 2011.

Previous application

Hello Does anyone know if the UKBA will release what exact points I scored on my previous tier 1 extension? I am coming up to applying for my ILR, and I now earn slightly more than what I did 2 years ago. However, when I put this information into the points based calculator, it shows I do not have e...

Hi Lucapooka, thanks for your reply. My issue is that I’m employed by an overseas based consultancy that allows us to set our uk income at lower level, for the obvious tax benefit. So if I left my salary at its current level, I would not have enough to satisfy the previous earnings requirement. But ...

Previous Earnings: trading income allowable?

Certainly the policy guidance does not seem to shed any light on this specific situation. I actively trade Put and Call Options on the Australian Stock Exchange (whilst also...

Biometric testing... No letter recieved?

Hello I sent my Tier 1 extension application away 7 weeks ago. Payment was taken (about 6 weeks) and I also received the letter of confirmation that the application was received a few days later. However I've not received any letter or email to arrange biometrics testing. I have not submitted this i...
