I think the important point we are missing in all this discussion is that UKBA could not get confirmation from HMRC that the OP was financially active during that tax year. I agree that financial activity does not mean being in profit but you are still required to submit your tax return even if you ...

Re: What confusion !!

A child born in the UK is "never" a over stayer even if his current leave to remain expires and he/she does not extend it. This is incorrect. A person is an overstayer by definition, if his/her current leave expires and he/she does not extend it, while remaining in the UK. However, overst...

Re: Is PO the only way to enroll Biometrics?

I have a PEO nearby. So can I enroll my biometrics at PEO instead of PO? I checked that appointments are available at this PEO for Tier 1 General. I hope this is not mandatory to go to PO only for biometrics. Want to save on the cost of biometrics. if the biometric invitation letter gives yo...

Cant UKBA build a simple system as that?? I am sure half the queries at 0870 will go away if they implement something like that.. Well probably thats expecting too much from UKBA.. !!! The answer lies with in the question itself. If they do it, their revenue will be reduced as 0870 numbers c...

I dont think an old P9d will work for you as HO may not accept that. Instead I will ask my employer to confirm in writing whatever benefit you have received in the period you are going to claim points for. You can then further support this with your tax code documents from HMRC. I think this will do...

Link below might be of help. If you have lived in UK for less than 12 months then your NHS access is limited but this should not apply in your case.

If someone has an accounting year from 6th April to 5th April but is claiming an earnings period from 1st Feb to 31st January then of course any expenses incurred in Feb/March would fall outside of what is declared to UKBA; it would be totally irrelevant. Likewise any expenses from the previous Feb...

IF you are operating as a sole trader, you will also have to provide invoices generated during the period of time you are claiming points. This will be in addition to Accountant's letter and Bank statements. See Section 114 sub section (X) of Tier 1 Policy Guidance applicable from 06-04-12
