Re: Using same pics for nationality and passport

Yes I did and the funny thing I had the same picture on the PR as well, hence I think I got away as PR was issued about 15 months back Using the same photo in PR, BC and PP - cheeky... :D Okay, so obviously it is possible. I figure it is not a risk for the applicant, in the worst case IPS will reje...

Re: Using same pics for nationality and passport

FYI - for my appllication, used pics that were 2-3 yrs old and I got away with it. Have had my interview and am waiting for my passport. I think in practice it is not so much about the age (I agree, few faces change change enough within a year or two for the HO to notice), but more about using the ...

Re: Reason for Abscence for naturalisation application

What do you suggest I should do to avoid causing concern and delaying the application? Several possible approaches. If you maintained an address in the UK all the time, just use that. If your absences are below the thresholds (which they appear to be), that is all there is to it. If you did not mai...

The obvious difference I can think of now was the colour. Hers was sort of white ish in colour. However, she said that she never had to attend a ceremony but rather sign a letter sent to her in a post with an oath on. Interesting ! The certificate sounds like mine. What colour is yours then? Old-school, eh? ;)
I see no reason why not. The public office in Liverpool accepts them. Since it is a perfectly valid form of payment anyway, it should be accepted without any problems by HO.

Re: After getting the British Passport

My aunt received hers about 12 years ago and since then she hasn't found a reason to take it out. Of course, she took it out to compare when I received mine. Nice. :) Does it look any different from yours? I class my naturalisation certificate in the same category as my birth and marriage certifica...

Re: Proof of residency question

I am a EU national and have lived in UK since 2004. I would like to apply for British Citizenship, however I am unsure as to whether I'd be able to provide sufficient proof of me fulfilling the residency requirements. I've had a few jobs since my family moved here, for a total of maybe 3 years in t...

Re: After getting the British Passport

Naturalisation certificate is the proof that you are a British Citizen. Passport is only a travel document. Please please don't lose your certificate. However, you do not need to carry the certificate while traveling. That is certainly true, and very good advice. In theory, the certificate of natur...

Re: AN form printed both side

Hi Folks, Does anyone used an AN form printed both side ? Is that acceptable ?? I don't think that it is formally forbidden (wouldn't rule it out, though), but why would you do that? Assuming you don't have a professional printer, duplex is more troublesome, and if you make a mistake, you have to r...

No. With a solid, well thought-out cover letter that should not be a problem at all.

Re: Reason for Abscence for naturalisation application

Please in reference to your answer to 1&2 above. Does one have to include adresses where one was on hoiliday. I have applied on the basis of 3yrs married to a BC. In Jan 2010, my kids and i visited hubby outside the UK on holiday for about 50days and again in Aug for 20 days. Technically holida...

Re: Reason for Abscence for naturalisation application

1. In section 1.17 of form AN where you mention about pervious addresses of last 5 years, do I need to mention my Pakistani address? Yes, if you have holes in your past-addresses list, that would cause concern and delay your application substantially. Just list where you have lived, regardless whet...

In my understanding this point says that EEA Nationals should fill in this part by providing what they where doing over the 6 years? Re: Passport interview office parking & taking 2 yr old

Does anyone know if parking is easily available at Reading and Luton passport office for the interview. In Luton the NCP operates a car park at the very same post code (LU1 2SJ ) as the passport interview office. According to Google Maps, that is just 0.2m walking distance. Prices are reasonable, s...

Why did you think P60s would be required? You are not the first person to be surprised how little supporting information needs to be supplied with a Naturalisation application. Maybe because such documents are required if applying for naturalisation directly following the EEA route. In that case, a...

One solicitor has advised to wait for 5 years and then apply and Home office are now considering those points against your application. My understanding was that one minor offence or Fixed penalty notice in a year should not be a problem. I agree with your view. See this thread for more information...
