Ok - thanks Lucapooka. I will do as you advice.

So the two year period will be from January 2010 until 26 Oct 2011 on Dependant Tier 1 and then FLR (M) up to December 2011/ January 2012.

I am in a similar situation. I got my ILR few days back. I was on Tier 1 General visa. My wife is dependant on me. She went outside of UK for 4.5 months and she was completing her 2 years in mid of December 2011 so I thought to apply my ILR first and then after getting that I will apply for her ILR....

It depends, if you're sending postal application then I think 'No' but if you're applying in person then Yes. Photocopies of all docs should be provided.
