Date of bank statements and payslips

I have read that the bank statements and payslips need to be no more than 28 days old at the date of application. But, is the date of application the date you submit and pay for the application online or the date of your appointment to do the biometrics and hand in the documents which in our case wi...

Anyone out there with any knowledge or experience in this area ? Getting a bit worried that no response means our case is really complicated and we will either get refused or it will take forever to process. Should I be consulting an immigration solicitor ? Problem is we have no money to do that rig...

Does anyone have any experience of applying for a spouse visa with a similar immigration history ? I can't find anything on the UKBA website that clarifies this issue and am worried that even if we meet all the criteria - financial, accomodation.... etc, that we could be refused on this.

Is immigration history taken into account for Spouse visa ?

Is past immigration history taken into account when deciding on a spouse visa ? the application form asks: Have you travelled outside your country of residence (excluding to the UK) in the last 10 years ? and, Have you ever been refused, deported, removed or otherwise required to leave any country (...

Bank Statements

On the subject of bank statements - if they are the originals that were sent to you do by post, do they still need to be stamped and signed by the bank, or is that just for statements you print out from the internet ?

I'm sure I seen somewhere that debit and credit cards are both accepted as long as they are Visa or Mastercard.

Paying the Visa application fee online

My husband (the applicant) does not have a bank card which allows online payments so I will need to pay the visa application fee using my bank card. I wrote to Worldbridge to check this would be ok but their reply is worded a bit strangley so I am still a bit unsure. Worldbridge said: Please note th...

Just realised why you asked this - Surinder Singh ! This really would be a last resort for me as giving up my life to go and live in Italy for a while would not be a great move for us. I am 39 and my husband and I want to start a family ASAP so giving up my flat and more importantly a job I have had...

Decree Absolute / Marriage Certificate questions

I have spoke to my landlady and told her about my husband coming and she was fine with him staying here which is such a relief. I was just worrying because I didn't tell her my marriage plans when I took on the tenancy because I wasn't really too sure myself when everything would happen and didn't w...

Proof of ownership for landlady required ?

Thanks for the reply. I think you are right that I speak with my landlady and explain the situation. I want to try to keep things as simple as possible. I think I will probably ask my council or an estate agent to provide the housing inspection report on the size of the flat etc as I don't want to t...

Thanks Vinny. The link doesn't seem to be working for me, but neither do a lot of the UKBA links I've tried tonight so I'm assuming the website is down at the moment. I'll try again tomorrow.

Really ? Has this changed recently ? I know he could make the application from ...

Do you need to hand in passport when you apply for a visa ?

Hello, My husband is Albanian and I am British. We are hoping that he will be able to apply for a UK marriage visa in a couple of months once he has taken the English Language test and received the certificate. He currently lives in Italy and holds a current work visa for Italy. I understand that on...

Maintenance requirements for Spouse visa

Hello, I am a little confused how to calculate the maintenance requirement needed for the Spouse visa as the sticky on this site states the benefit rates from April 2012 which it says should be used in order to calculate adequate maintenance levels. However the UKBA website states min salary levels ...

My understanding is that you only have to pass the speaking and listening part of the A1 exam to meet the Spouse Visa requirements. City and Guilds have introduced an exam specifically to meet the UKBA requirement and it only tests speaking and listening skills unlike other examination boards. Infor...
