Would you mind disclosing how long you have known your fiance and how many times you had met them before you applied for the visa? I wish to apply for one for my fiance but I am worried it will be refused because of the amount of times we have met and the short length of our relationship.

Thanks

Letters to support application

When making the appliaction for the marriage visa what sort of info should be included in the letter's from the applicant and sposor?

Should the sponsor just write facts about there financial status, housing etc? and leave it to the applicant to give details about the relationship?

Thanks

What Constitutes Essential Payments

Just curious when calculating your free money, what do they class as essential payments, is it just rent/mortgage, council tax, and utilities and debt payments? or if they see things such as car insurance, life insurance on your statments will they class this as one of your essentials?

I dont belive your age is a good enough reason to deny you a visa, yes it may raise some eyebrows and cause your relationship to come under more scrutiny but they will have no legal grounds to refuse your visa on the sole grounds she 19 years older than you.

Re: UK Family Visitor Visa Refused

This is a silly reason for refusal and you can appeal. Why is it a silly reason? one of the main requirements of a visit visa is to prove significant ties to your home country to show you will leave at the end of your visit. OP your application would have been more succesfull if you had kept your j...

Having looked into the Thai wedding process we have now decided we are going to go down this route, its far simpler than in Vietnam. As neither of us speaks Thai we are also looking at using A law firm th...

Another possibility would be getting married in a third country, for example Thailand. But the requirements of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok as regards countersigning the affirmation document would need to be checked out before thinking of going down such a route. Just a thought. Ok well I think if we have to prove significant ties then the marriage visit visa is a no no unless they will accept her studies as a significant tie? Beyond this she is a young unmarried woman who lives alone with no children and only a part time job, so I think it will be hard to prove any signifi...

So does this mean as a marriage visit visa she would not have to meet the "(ii) intends to leave the United Kingdom at the end of the period of the visit as stated by him; " requirement? Hence will not have to show significant ties to her home country? Which I am aware is the major stumbl...

Or is that information given by the UKBA wrong? Would we qualify for marriage visit visa?

Also does anyone know if an application for marriage visit visa is more likely to be accepted than a general visit visa?

Thanks

Getting a visitor visa is not the way to go. What she needs is a fiancée visa, which would enable her to come to the UK, get married here, and then apply in the UK for a spouse visa.
