Thanks this is useful. I was also implying a different route to BC than mine; assuming one who has stayed in the UK on student visa for over 10 yrs and obtained the ILR, then I guess the date he will have to use is the date while he was a student. So, it makes perfect sense that student visa entry c...

Don't worry, for citizenship, it's only 5 years of which last 12 months on ILR. 2.1 - you can use your student visa entry date. if the law allows a student visa holder to switch visa category in country, then I don't see any reason why a student visa holder can't enter with a view of long term stay...

Does residential qualifying period includes ILR duration?

I was looking into various sources of information and found out from http://www.workpermit.com/uk/naturalisation.htm#s1 that residential qualifying period is 6 years (5 year's WP/HSMP + 1 yr ILR). I am little confused, the UKBA says only 5 years qualifying period, which includes to my understanding ...

I had my HSMP in May 2007. Then had Tier 1 (General) in May 2009 and now eligible to apply for ILR in April 2012. Would my spouse be required to spend 2 years in UK before becoming eligible to ILR or Can she apply for ILR alongwith me irrespective of her length of stay. Please note that in May 2007...

Dear All, I am very delightled to let you all know that we have succeeded in getting our ILR today at the Solihull PEO. My case was on WP+WP over 5 years. My wife had been here for just over 6months. We both went to the PEO and I would strongly recommend people to take there dependents. Lady luck is...

Congratulations! Mine is very very soon. Although, I should admit I didn't thought they would be really fussed about the marriage certificate as its the very basis why your dependent is with you. I don't think they would issue a visa from overseas without a valid marriage certificate. But anyways th...

Re: Unpaid leave letter from Employer?

Hi guys, Just quickly checking if I require a letter from my employer confirming I was on agreed unpaid leave for certain duration? Are unpaid leaves generally an issue? I have had 25days unpaid and 25days paid leave in a single trip. This is obviously within the 90days threshold but just wondering...

Hi How did the case worked check the total number of days outside the UK, did he check each and every stamp on the passport or calculated only on the basis of information you have provided on the form, or do they have access to records which show them the exact date and time we entered in the UK? Check with your first employer as they should have a copy of the work permit approval letter.
