Thanks, that is what I was exactly after.. a bit of view from both sides. I do have a feeling that including the reasons for early extension might be good. but I am not sure, whether to explicitly ask for FLr to be given from the date of LTR. Asking for it explicitly is not a good idea but giving r...

But I am still intrigued by your comment regarding the 3 month grace period where the CW can decide when to validate the FLR from? Do you know where can I find some info or guideline regarding that? Apologies, fudged up regarding the Schengen visa part but what I meant was, people who have got FLR from the date of expiry of old LTR didnt really ask or state any reason in the covering letter for early application. Some have got FLR from the date of decision no matter when current LTR was expirin...

If you apply early then the CW can discreetly grant FLR from the date of expiry of old LTR if the date of decision & start of new leave (expiry of old) date is less than 3 months. The point is, there is no standard procedure. People have got FLR from the date of decision even though the gap betw...

Re: Tier1 extension

a) My visa expires on 01-Jul-2012. Can I apply for extension in Mar 2012 (more than 3 months left)? b) If yes, do I need to provide any justification in the application for early renewal? I am not really bothered about loss of 3 months for ILR qualification. One of the reasons to apply in March is ...

Hi, I am referring to UK immigration. While leaving the country, do they ask why did you stay for 1.5 months after your Visa has expired? Book a PEO appointment anyhooz as no one can say whether you will receive the barcode letter or not.
If you do, you can decide which will be quicker, PEO or PO. There is a charge of £16 at PO & its free at PEO
